The Assembler II is responsible for meeting daily production targets with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, delivery, inventory management, and productivity. An Electronics Lab Assembly/Solder Technician is responsible for assembling, cabling, and validating complex testing rack test systems. This includes building and repairing cables and connector assemblies as a critical part of the role. This role will create standardized (“canned”) maintenance tasks derived from Maintenance Planning Document (MPD). This position involves interpreting MPD task data from Excel or PDF sources, analyzing Aircraft Maintenance Manual details (including effectivity, notes, and ICA (Instructions for Continued Airworthiness) references—as commonly found in MPD files and determining the appropriate parts, materials, and labor requirements for squawks or maintenance task creation.
The goal is to build consistent, accurate, and reusable squawk text that can be deployed across work orders to improve efficiency, accuracy, and standardization.
Key Responsibilities
1. MPD Data Interpretation
- Review and analyze MPD task data from Excel‑based or PDF‑based MPDs, including interval, task title, effectivity, and associated notes.
- Extract the required task information and convert it into a clear, concise canned squawk.
- Ensure consistency of squawk formatting across all tasks.
2. Aircraft Maintenance Manual Research & Parts Identification
- Investigate Aircraft Maintenance Manual entries, which commonly contain source notes, effectivity details, part Number applicability, ICA references, and material/part clues.
- Determine which parts are required for the task (filters, bolts, hardware, components, etc.).
- Document required parts, quantities, and any options or condition‑based replacements.

3. Canned Squawk Creation – convert what is in MPT to excel
- Convert MPD tasks into standardized canned squawks that include:
- Task description
- Inspection or replacement instructions

- Notes and special considerations

4. Documentation & Data Quality

5. Cross‑Functional Support

Preferred qualifications
- Advanced degree in course subject preferred.
- 4 or more years of professional industry work experience since degree.
- Teaching, training, mentoring, or coaching experience in the course subject, within a U.S. corporate environment or at a U.S. college/university institution.
- Knowledge of federal and California state laws and regulations as applicable to the course subject.
- Experience in creating syllabi, learning objectives, lectures/presentations, learning activities, assignments, assessments, exams, and quizzes.
- Experience teaching and/or developing academic content for online courses.
- Ability to convey conceptual and complex ideas and information.
- Ability to support the success of all students through inclusive curriculum, classroom environment, and pedagogy.
- Effective verbal/written communication and presentation skills (English).
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues and work within a team environment.
- Proficiency in (or willingness to learn) instructional and other technology, such as: Learning Management Systems (Canvas); lecture/presentation capture applications (Panopto); online video conferencing (Zoom); Microsoft Office (Word and PowerPoint); file sharing (Google drive or Dropbox); and Google Workspace tools (email, calendar, docs, sheets, slides, etc).

Accounting: Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Accounting (Fraud and Forensic Accounting): Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Personal Financial Planning: Certified Financial Planner (CFP) with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.
Project Management: Project Management Professional (PMP), Project Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP), or Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) with the Project Management Institute (PMI)

Description
Position Summary: The Assembler I performs bench or line assembly operations to produce components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies using various hand tools and semi-automation equipment. Looks for guidance from lead personnel to have materials, equipment, and jobs setup and rely on lead personnel for direction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Performs duties by verbal or written instructions.
- Crimps, screws, welds, solders, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to fasten parts together.
- Assembles or attaches various hardware such as caps, clamps, tape, lugs, connectors, etc. to assemblies.
- Tends to machines that shape, press, insert, wind, or weld component parts.
- Sorts, packs, and records production information.
- Maintains acceptable levels of production according to established standards.
- Assists other associates when needed.
- Maintains dialog with lead personnel on status of work and raw material to ensure efficiency.
- Practices good safety and housekeeping procedures and adheres to all established policies and procedures.
Requirements
Experience/Skills Required:
- Good communication skills and ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and work over equipment for long periods of time.
- Ability to work with and handle very small parts (.003 diameter).
- Ability to work with hand tools and possibly run a semi-automated machine.
- Ability to learn and understand dimensions on drawings.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to determine / recognize color coding.
- Basic math and measuring skills.
- Must be a good team player and have the ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
