As a Manufacturing Engineer - ATLO (Assembly Test & Launch Operations) you will be responsible for developing, qualifying, and implementing manufacturing processes and procedures to build, test and launch satellites, related subsystems, and components.

This position's internal job code is Manufacturing Engineer. Our team is currently hiring for levels 2 & 3.

Position Responsibilities:

- Work with other teams to mechanically integrate satellite components into complex assemblies in a continuously evolving production environment

- Interface with technicians, quality inspectors, and engineers in a cleanroom

- Review assembly level engineering drawings and schematics to anticipate build challenges and implement changes for manufacturability and production scalability

- Collaborate with stakeholders to create and maintain work instructions, bills of materials, standard operating procedures, etc. in support of manufacturing and supply chain execution using MES and ERP/MRP tools

- Coordinate and implement new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts

- Lead and executes tasks as needed to transition final integration builds from low-rate initial production to high rate production

- Document, analyze, and provide resolution for non-conformances and implement corrective actions

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline (ABET accreditation required)

- 3+ years' experience in mechanical manufacturing engineering or assembly, integration, and test engineering in Aerospace, Automotive, or Commercial industries. (Structures, Propulsion, Integration or GSE)

- Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting mechanical engineering drawings, technical manuals and policies and recommend changes to procedures

- Experience with the build, assembly, or testing of complex systems

- Must have technical problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis complete with sound engineering based corrective actions

- Knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles and concepts

- This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Security Clearance Post-Start is required

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

- Experience with integration of complex assemblies, including test experience

- Strong knowledge of mechanical assemblies, manufacturing processes, or industry standards

- Foundation in electromechanical or mechatronic concepts

- Thorough understanding of root cause analysis and related analytical methodology (Five Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa Analysis, 8D, etc.) and root cause driven engineering changes

- Background in Lean Manufacturing/Process Improvement

  • Ensure that the correct revisions of drawings and documents are being used, verifying that all paperwork and online systems are complete and accurate.

  • Perform inspections and in-process inspections as required, including crimping, splicing, torque, bond, and ground checks.

  • Conduct various tests and measurements, such as resistance tests, to ensure that wires meet specification requirements.

  • Monitor manufacturing processes and document findings as required to ensure compliance with quality standards.

  • Inspect electrical wire bundles and assemblies, ensuring all parts have been assembled according to drawings and specifications.

  • Screen paperwork for options, substitutions, and effectiveness of parts and materials.

  • Identify, investigate, and document discrepancies, reporting them to the shop as necessary.

  • Reject wire bundles, assemblies, or installations as required, documenting discrepancies and processing Quality Assurance records.

  • Indicate Quality Assurance acceptance on appropriate paperwork and online systems, processing documentation as required.

  • Coordinate and complete travelers, investigating and clearing check orders as necessary.

  • Initiate Inspection Record Change Requests (IRCR) and/or Shipside Action Trackers (SAT) as needed.

  • Ensure that certifications for tools, test equipment, and personnel are current and compliant.

  • Assist other employees by providing information and answering questions regarding functions, methods, and procedures.

  • Perform first article inspections and FAA conformities, coordinating results as required.

FUNCTION:



In an assigned area or cell, work with limited supervision to perform the assembly of Production aircraft parts as well as the teardown, and assembly of Overhaul & Repair designated aircraft parts.



TYPICAL DUTIES:




  • Performs fitting and assembly operations on various production aircraft parts.



  • Performs teardown and assembly of overhaul & repair aircraft parts.



  • Cleans and applies special adhesives to materials resulting in a permanent bonding of the materials. Sets up and controls furnace temperature in accordance with established specifications.



  • Must be capable of reading and interpreting blueprints, operation sheets, technical specifications and overhaul manuals.

The Senior ATLO Engineer is invited to improve the efficiency of current processes and play a critical role in developing satellites for manufacturability and large-scale constellations.

A Senior ATLO Engineer will report functionally to an ATLO Team Lead and serve under or as an ATLO program lead.

The ideal candidate is highly collaborative and a proactive problem-solver with experience in spacecraft integration, hardware-software integration, test systems, or production automation.

Rotating Shift: This position requires employees to work various shifts on a rotating basis.

These computer software applications will be used to define process and identify in advance any potential process risk with the use of PFMEA technique to ensure the correct integration of processes on time, in a safety matter and in accordance with product specifications.
  • As part of Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) development, Vehicle Process Engineer will generate the initial list of PFMEAs to be carried out according to the new processes requirements. The definition of PFMEAs will be performed in mutual agreement with VPE Cars, WPI (Work Process Integration) and plant team members. Once the matrix of PFMEAs to be generated has been defined, Process Engineer will be responsible to schedule meetings in mutual agreement with VPE and plant, develop and lead the PFMEAs. For the creation of PFMEA it will be required to populate the process steps on the PFMEA form provided by VPE Cars /WPI, which includes process steps, identifying potential process risks, establishment of severity, occurrence and detection values, establishment of recommended actions, assignment of responsible for each created recommended action, creation of summary reports after each PFMEA review and document posting into WPI web. It also includes the follow-up of open recommended actions with responsible(s) up to which all the actions will be closed as well.
  • Vehicle Process Engineer will be responsible to perform the new and update process documents for the current and new vehicle product programs produced by Toluca Plant, it includes all product parts end items, parts change last level released by product engineering that may affect the process(es) and the inclusion of the changes into the processes should be done considering the product implementation date specified in the engineering change Vehicle Process Engineer will be able to understand the product specifications included in the Engineering Bill of Material (EBOM) system, Product Change Notes (CNs) and Engineering Bulletins.
  • It is expected after being familiar with the product specifications, Client systems use and process document requirements that the Vehicle Process Engineer will develop a new process page under the rate of 30 minutes and meet the quality required. If the process or PFMEA's documents performed by Vehicle Process Engineer contain mistakes or missing information, the time used to fix the errors and meet the quality requirements will be covered by Engineering Services.
  • Vehicle Process Engineer will provide these services considering performing in the different process areas BIW and GA process areas, work under pressure, availability to travel, assistance on weekends and sometime holidays.
  • Vehicle Process Engineer is responsible to keep the information managed updated, control the changes, and manage the process documents assigned as well as have them available into the corresponding systems indicated in accordance with the vehicle(s) program(s) needs established by IME/ME. The confidentiality of the documents generated must be maintained across all the vehicle programs and assigned projects.

As a Sealer for Aircraft Integral Fuel Tank Components, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in the sealing and assembly processes. Your responsibilities will include working from blueprints and specifications to clean surfaces, apply sealants, and prepare fuel vents for leak tests. You will also perform necessary rework and apply corrosion preventative seals to maintain the integrity of fuel tank components. Attention to detail is essential as you assist with pressure testing operations and coordinate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure seamless communication across shifts.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work from blueprints, documents, standards, and other required specifications to complete assigned tasks.
  • Obtain daily work assignments from the team leader or supervisor and read Installation Plans and applicable drawings to determine work areas.
  • Select appropriate cleaning solvents and clean interior and exterior surfaces prior to sealing.
  • Load sealing guns and clean sealing equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
  • Hand mix sealant as required and perform rework or pickups on assigned assemblies.
  • Assist with pressure testing operations as assigned.
  • Use specified agents and procedures for tasks such as removing protective coatings, applying corrosion inhibitors, and reactivating paint surfaces.
  • Ensure proper grounding of the aircraft prior to cleaning operations and set up ventilation equipment to supply fresh air in work areas.
  • Keep supervisors informed of progress and coordinate information with employees on other shifts.
  • Mask areas as required to facilitate corrosion removal or painting operations.
  • Prepare fuel vents for leak tests and restore them to normal after testing.
  • Apply corrosion preventative seal as required and measure, layout, and apply aerodynamic seals to skin gaps on leading and trailing edge panels.
  • Submit completed jobs or in-process checks to inspectors for acceptance or rejection.
  • Apply decals, metalcals, placards, and charts to specific locations on parts and assemblies as required.

Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:

  • Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.
  • Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
  • Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.
  • Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.
  • Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.
  • Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications :

  • 1+ years of experience with paints, coatings, finishes, and/or sealants.

  • Experience in handling chemicals and/or hazardous materials.

  • Experience in prepping, cleaning, and painting various surfaces in industrial, commercial, or academic settings.

  • Experience working from heights & using fall protection equipment with weight limitations.

  • Experience with safety process and/or procedures in a manufacturing or operations environment.

  • Experience working with tools and following work instructions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of experience performing aerospace sealing.

  • Enrolled in a Boeing partnered manufacturing related high school or community and technology college academic program.

  • Completed 1+ year of aerospace sealing in high school or community and technology college academic program.

Typical Education & Experience:

High school graduate or GED preferred.
