Qualifications
Guards shall meet all the following requirements:
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Must possess and show documentation to demonstrate completion of a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma
- Must have effective written and oral communication skills.
- Must have completed all required training and registration pursuant to the Security Guard Act and must possess a valid NYSDOS photo I.D.
- Must have a valid New York State ID
- Must have a valid Fire Guard (F-01, F-03, F-4) Certification from the New York City Fire Department.
- Must be able to stand or walk for a consecutive eight (8) hour shift
- Must be able to climb stairs
- Must be able to lift and carry objects similar in weight to a fire extinguisher (i.e., objects weighing 25 lbs.)
- Must be able to sufficiently assist persons requiring aid or assistance.
- Must have adequate eyesight to perform the visual ID check required for access.

Security Guard is able to perform a variety of fixed-post, mobile, or foot patrols while maintaining situational awareness and making decisions and/or taking actions consistent with established post orders, facility rules, guidelines and protocols. Duties may include work in austere and uncomfortable conditions for prolonged periods of time, including periods of inclement weather, while performing walking, standing, searching, and surveillance or sitting duties essential to the performance of the security functions.
Keep supervisors and managers informed of unusual occurrences and important events as detailed in post orders, rules, regulations, guidelines, and protocols.
Monitor alarms, radio traffic and other information sources. Dispatch or inform others as needed and authorized.
Report and appropriately address fire alarms, burglary alarms, requests for assistance and criminal acts; including but not limited to: vandalism, theft, illegal entry or attempted entry, suspicious behavior, domestic or workplace violence, threats, speed or other vehicle violations, illegal drug use, inappropriate use of facility or client equipment or property.
Stop, screen, inquire, and inspect vehicles and pedestrians entering and / or exiting the facility as directed by post orders, rules, regulations, guidelines, and protocols.
Prevent passage of prohibited articles onto or from client facility.
Escort individuals or vehicles in accordance with post orders, rules, regulations, guidelines and protocols.
Use portable radios, phones, or other communication devises appropriately and according to established rules.
Monitor all APSI and client equipment; guard against loss or damage; report any such loss or damage immediately to a supervisor or manager.
Log in Property Pass numbers for authorized property/equipment movements.
Ensure the security of government property, detaining personnel, and reporting anyone involved with unauthorized property/equipment removal.

Hands Of Healing's Security Guards will be responsible for providing twenty-four (24) monitoring seven (7) days a week (to include holidays). SGs are scheduled to provide twenty-four (24) hour surveillance of the program grounds, to include monitoring the perimeter of the program grounds and ensure unauthorized individuals are not permitted access into the premises. SG are responsible for controlling facility access, always guarding the property.

As an Unarmed Security Officer, you will be part of a highly trained security team that supports critical facilities and infrastructure, public venues that require an enhanced presence and personal protective services. You'll be trained by our team of highly qualified firearms instructors in safe weapons handling and marksmanship. Security personnel are to be certified and trained and will be assigned a variety of standing, sitting and walking posts.
May be required to perform emergency duties which require physical exertion such as: standing or walking for an entire shift, climbing stairs, lifting, carrying up to 50lbs. and running.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and reporting on activities on site, ensuring the safety of employees, visitors, and property.
- Enforcing rules, regulations, and directives related to personnel, visitors, and premises.
- Controlling access to the facility and assisting visitors as necessary.
- Inspecting inbound/outbound packages and monitoring vehicle movements, entrances, and exits.
- Conducting foot or vehicle patrols, identifying unsafe conditions or security violations, and ensuring a secure environment.
- Writing reports and logs to document incidents and activities accurately.
- Responding to emergencies such as fires, medical incidents, hazardous materials, or weather-related events in accordance with procedures.
- Protecting evidence and securing the scene of incidents during investigations.
- Maintaining CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Acting ethically, professionally, and responsibly at all times.
Work Environment and Schedule
- Job operates in client sites which could be indoors or outdoors.
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking, in the performance of daily security activities.
- Open availability Nights, Weekends, Holidays and overtime as directed (overtime occurs).

Responsibilities:- Interacting with employees, guests, and vendors providing directions and assistance.
- Protecting employees, guests, and company property.
- Enforcing resort policies.
- Controlling park access, checking vehicle permits and scanning ID badges for team members, vendors, and contractors.
- Patrolling and inspecting assigned areas of the resort for safety hazards, including fire, theft, and vandalism.
- Keeping unauthorized personnel out of restricted areas.
- Greeting and screening those entering through metal detection and checking bags for prohibited items.
