Summary:

The competent Nurse, in the same or similar clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to on long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation.

• Using the appropriate protocol, administers medications and treatments;

  identify issues and resources.

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred

• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and initial on-boarding requirements are validated through successful completion of the designated organizational entry competency validation and a MedSurg specific competency validation.
• All newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency program or other specific orientation. Skills completion and competency completion will be achieved with the preceptor at the bedside and documented through the program’s tracking software.
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements.

Summary:

The Mammography Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed, and help to facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The Mammography Technologist will demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed or required. The technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. Expectation to participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within their scope of licensure. The Mammography Technologist will adhere to, and maintain, the expected imaging competencies as outlined by management. Job Requirements:

Education/Skills

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required

Experience

• 1 year of experience in medical imaging required
• 1 year of mammography experience preferred
• Basic computer experience required

• Radiography (R) by ARRT required
• Mammography (M) by ARRT is required within 1 year of hire
• State Licensure required
