Offering an exceptional opportunity, we are searching for a Chief of the Section and a Director of the Aortic Center to lead our growing team of six surgeons and seven advanced practice providers in a clinic-based academic program with remarkable prospects in teaching, research, and clinical surgery. The Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine (VTCSOM) is a unique partnership between a public research university (Virginia Tech) and a private health care organization (Carilion Clinic) and is a fully LCME accredited, four-year allopathic medical school. The school is among the first of the new generation of medical schools in the United States. While VTCSOM opened as a private school in 2010, the school became part of Virginia Tech as its ninth college on July 1, 2018. QMS ownership & documentation
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (ISO 13485 & AS9100)
- Own document control: procedures, forms, records, revision history, approvals, and training linkage
- Write and maintain SOPs and Work Instructions (WI) that are usable on the shop floor
- Build/maintain templates and “quality infrastructure” (CAPA, NCR, MRB, supplier scorecards, audit checklists, etc.) so quality work is repeatable and fast
- Maintain and execute quality control plans and inspection procedures (incoming, in-process, final)
- Review and approve production travelers/routers, inspection reports, and batch records for completeness and compliance
- Support measurement and inspection activity as needed (hands-on), including working with GD&T intent and drawing requirements
- Own calibration control and measurement system discipline (gage control, basic MSA/Gage R&R where appropriate)
- Lead nonconformance containment, disposition (MRB), and corrective/preventive action
- Drive root cause analysis using structured methods (5-Why, fishbone, etc.)
- Use data (scrap, rework, yield, escapes, supplier defects) to prioritize improvements and prevent recurrence
- Audits, suppliers, and external requirements
- Plan and lead internal audits; coordinate/support customer and certification audits
- Own supplier quality activities: supplier evaluations, incoming inspection strategy, supplier corrective actions, and performance tracking
- Partner with engineering and operations to ensure purchasing controls and material traceability meet customer and regulatory requirements
- Lead/coordinate validation activities such as IQ/OQ/PQ and process/product qualification, ensuring documentation traceability and clear acceptance criteria
- Support transition from development work into repeatable production (control plans, risk reviews, inspection plans, recordkeeping)
- Collaborate daily with production, engineering, and program leadership to solve problems and improve execution
- Various other tasks as required in a small business
- Engineering degree preferred or equivalent industry experience
- 7+ years in manufacturing quality engineering with direct responsibility for process performance improvement
- Demonstrated track record of reducing defect rates, scrap, or variation through statistical and engineering-based methods
- Advanced root cause analysis experience involving complex, multi-variable manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in statistical tools (SPC, DOE, regression analysis, Cp/Cpk analysis) with hands-on software experience (Minitab, JMP, or equivalent)

As part of the firm's in-house translation team, you will provide translation services to internal clients across Sales, Service, Research, Content, Marketing, Legal and Compliance, and others. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company and support Fisher Investments in our globalisation efforts and communications strategy. You will quickly learn about our business, industry, and writing style as you translate our educational, promotional, and service-oriented content across the markets we operate in. You will be paired up with countries or markets that match your linguistic background and serve as the primary language expert for internal clients across the firm, while playing an important role in our ability to fulfil translation needs. You will report directly to the in-house translation team leader.
The Day-to-Day:
* Be the primary language expert for internal clients and help facilitate all translation-related requests
* Develop tone and language style guides for each market you service
* Develop and maintain terminology bases for your target language
* Showcase excellent written and verbal communication skills to localise multiple content types such as financial, marketing, legal and educational materials
* Be a reviewer for specialised materials by editing translated material produced by in-house colleagues and external translation vendors
* Excel in quality management and proofreading
* Translate capital markets related content such as educational brochures, articles, marketing ads, websites and presentations from English into Korean
* Ad-hoc projects as directed by management
Your Qualifications:
* Korean native speaker; fluency in English is required
* Degree in Translation, Linguistics, Communications, or other professional certification related to translation or localisation
* 2+ years of experience in translation, editing, or content production
* Experience in the field of finance and capital markets is advantageous
* Knowledge of CAT tools, TMS technology, and translation practices is beneficial
* Experience editing for clarity, grammar, spelling, consistency and accuracy with few revisions needed
* Manage complexity and coordinate across several departments under strict timelines
