Summary:

The Engineer, Compute System Engineering is responsible for the implementation and support of compute based infrastructure, including public, private and hybrid cloud deployment models to support critical healthcare operations across The Guthrie Clinic (TGC). This role ensures high availability and performance for clinical systems, patient care services, and administrative functions across the network. The Engineer collaborates with IT teams, vendors, and hospital stakeholders to align server infrastructure with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. This position will be a technology advocate throughout the organization for the effective application of technology to meet business needs and to support business changes and growth. Technology functions include cloud computing, database, storage, data protection, virtualization, hyperconverged infrastructure, server automation, monitoring and application delivery.

Experience:

  • Preferred three to five (3 to 5) years of experience in implementing and managing Windows and Open Systems server infrastructure hybrid cloud solutions in an enterprise environment; healthcare experience preferred.
  • Highly experienced information systems professional with a strong technical background and proven track record of accomplishments in a large, complex multi-level organization .
  • Strong technical knowledge of VMWare ESX and Microsoft Hyper-V.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Windows, Linux and AIX operating systems and management.
  • Familiar with hyperconverged infrastructures such as VxRail.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for installation and maintenance of server infrastructure along with upgrading/configuration and the life cycle management of hardware.
  • Monitors functions of server infrastructure to ensure acceptable performance.
  • Creates and maintains documentation related to server configuration and environments.

- Active Overview The Advanced Electronics and Computer Field trains Sailors to maintain, operate, and repair some of the Navy's most sophisticated electronics and computing systems, including radar, communications, navigation, local area networks, weapons fire control, and Aegis combat systems.

ETs and FCs form the backbone of a ship's Combat Systems department aboard carriers, cruisers, destroyers, and other surface combatants, as well as at repair and technical activities ashore.

Key Responsibilities Serve as an Electronics Technician (ET) or Fire Controlman (FC) after training, based on performance and Navy needs; as an ET, maintain and repair radar, communication, and navigation equipment including transmitters, receivers, displays, and shipboard communications suites such as SATCOM and HF; as an FC, operate, maintain, and repair fire control radars, computers, large screen displays, local area networks, weapon control consoles, and automatic gun systems; troubleshoot complex electronic and electro mechanical faults using technical documentation, test equipment, and established procedures; maintain configuration control, documentation, and logs that support inspections, certifications, and combat system readiness.

Summer Sessions, in partnership with UC Berkeley's Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department (EECS), invites applications for a pool of qualified, dynamic instructors with a commitment to Pre-College education in Computer Science, Programming, and Data Science to teach high school students (grades 10-12) in our Berkeley Summer Computer Science Academy. This intensive, non-credit program is offered in-person over 2 weeks during weekdays (June 22, 2026 - July 3, 2026) on the UC Berkeley campus with some online instructional components, such as an Instructor Orientation and a student pre-arrival Welcome Webinar.

General Duties
