JOB SUMMARY:

As a Project Manager, you will be accountable for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of any given project. Additionally, the Project Manager ensures budget and deadlines are met and consistent with project standards.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Create a Schedule of Values for our pay applications and submit to the General Contractor.
• Analyze the construction schedule and create a schedule for submittals, material ordering and estimated field labor durations & project completion.
• Create submittals for doors, frames and hardware from architectural plans and specification.
• Manage and respond to electronic contractual changes (RFI’s, PC’s, Etc.). Quote changes that affect our material and/or labor cost. Distribute Change Order Due letters to the contractor.
• Order materials (Purchase orders) from approved submittals for timely delivery according to the construction schedule or as agreed upon with the contractor for billed and stored material.
• Support the Performance Door project field supervisor for the timely delivery of materials according to the construction schedule. Send field use drawings periodically reflecting updated schedules incorporating project revisions.
• Provide monthly pay application to the accounting department including back up documentation for stored or FSC materials.
• Actively pursue contractual “Change Orders” from “price and proceed” CO Due letters. Take an active role in collecting money.
• Approve weekly vendor invoices for payment. Check vendor costs against our purchase order.
• Other job duties and responsibilities as needed.

Located at our Woodridge, IL facility and reporting to the Associate Vice President of Fire Protection, this position will be responsible for estimating, selling, and managing fire sprinkler projects while supporting the continued growth and expansion of our Fire Protection division. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with existing clients while developing new business relationships and contributing to the overall success and profitability of the department.

Responsibilities:

• Estimate, sell, and manage fire sprinkler projects of varying sizes, including service, tenant, and commercial.
• Primary responsibilities will be to develop and expand our sales opportunities and revenue base within the parameters of our current business model focusing on the Fire Protection clients within the Chicago and Northern Indiana regions.
• In addition to the Fire Protection sector, your responsibilities may extend into crossover opportunities within our mechanical, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and industrial groups.
• Manage and establish growth through existing AMS clients which will be provided as well as pursuit of new and perspective clients.
• Manage internal project accounting requirements, prepare routine financial updates.
• Participation in general marketing through associations, affiliations and personal contacts. AMS encourages networking from time to time, which requires attendance at functions that occur after hours and weekends.
• Assist and complement the administration and support services of the department to achieve maximum quality, efficiency and optimum growth, as well as corporate profitability.
• Assistance in collections of A/R when it has become problematic and unresolved through our support staff.

Qualifications:

• 3–7 years of experience in fire protection, fire sprinkler estimating, project management, or related construction sales role required.
• Proven experience estimating, selling, and managing fire sprinkler projects, including service, tenant improvement, and commercial work.
• Strong understanding of fire sprinkler systems, NFPA codes, and construction practices preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to develop new business, build client relationships, and grow revenue within existing and new accounts.
• Experience preparing estimates, proposals, and managing project financials, including cost tracking and forecasting.
• Ability to identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities within mechanical, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and industrial service offerings.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Experience working with construction contracts, project documentation, and job cost reporting preferred.

This role requires strong creative skills, with an emphasis on design, content development, and brand execution across all platforms. The ideal candidate is a versatile marketer who can take ownership of day-to-day deliverables from social media and email campaigns to brochures, apparel, presentations, and basic video editing, ensuring consistency of the AMS brand in everything from digital campaigns to field materials.

Responsibilities:

Design & Creative Production

• Design and produce marketing collateral including brochures, apparel, promotional items, field forms, presentations, and event materials.
• Support video editing, graphics, and multimedia projects.
• Ensure all materials meet brand standards and maintain consistency across platforms.
• Conduct research on competitors, industry trends, and client needs to inform marketing strategies.

Digital Marketing & Content

• Develop and schedule content for social media, email campaigns, and internal communications.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and contract documents to prepare accurate project estimates.

This position requires an individual with expertise in design/engineering coordination, estimating, construction management, and strong client-facing communication. The Onsite Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact between the field, subcontractors, and client representatives, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the full project lifecycle onsite, from planning through closeout, with a focus on mission critical standards, reliability, and uptime requirements.
• Coordinate daily with field superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure seamless execution of work.
• Interpret and communicate plans, specifications, and technical documents into actionable field tasks.

• Prepare fire sprinkler design drawings that maximize efficiency, meet code compliance and industry standards, and coordinate with building components and other trades, using design software and 3D modeling.

• Stocklist materials for fabrication and purchasing.
