Position Summary
Temple Beth El seeks a strategic, relational, and motivated Director of Advancement to accelerate our philanthropic growth and strengthen the relationships that sustain our sacred work. As a senior member of the professional team, the Director of Advancement will integrate relationship-building, storytelling, and philanthropy to inspire generous investment from congregants and community members. The Director will hold primary accountability for building and leading a comprehensive fundraising program, including membership giving, annual and major gifts, endowment, planned giving, and support for capital campaigns and other initiatives.
In partnership with clergy, staff, and volunteer leadership, the Director will manage and execute a high-impact development plan to cultivate, solicit, and steward donors, while building the systems that make fundraising effective and scalable, including donor management, CRM/data management, prospect research, volunteer activation, gift processing, recognition, and stewardship.
This position reports to the Executive Director and works in close partnership with the professional staff, clergy team, Board of Directors, and other lay leaders. The Director of Advancement will build and lead a robust development and stewardship program, and will partner closely with communications to ensure Temple Beth Elβs message, impact, and invitations to invest are clear, compelling, and consistent over time.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement a forward-looking advancement strategy rooted in and reflective of Temple Beth Elβs mission, vision, and focus on long-term sustainability.
- Partner with the Executive Director and Senior Rabbi to shape and articulate a compelling philanthropic vision and implement tactical execution.
- Guide the evolution from a traditional development model to a cohesive advancement operation that unites relationship-building, storytelling, and strategic growth.
Fundraising & Donor Engagement
- Achieve measurable, transformational growth in annual giving and endowment participation consistent with a five-year fundraising plan.
- Lead all major fundraising initiatives, including membership, annual giving, endowment and legacy giving, special campaigns, and grants.
- Build, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of major donors in partnership with clergy and lay leaders to strengthen relational philanthropy.
- Develop and implement a stewardship strategy centered on gratitude, transparency, and demonstrated impact.
- Create a donor journey and moves management system that feels personal, spiritual, and values-driven rather than transactional.
Marketing, Communications & Storytelling
- Lead strategic development communications, ensuring messaging that advances the Templeβs mission and inspires investment.
- Collaborate with senior staff and key partners to create aligned and impactful storytelling across all platforms.
- Tailor donor outreach and engagement using segmented strategies that speak to diverse motivations, life stages, and identities.
Team Leadership & Infrastructure
- Build and lead a mission-aligned advancement team responsible for annual giving, communications, stewardship, donor operations, and institutional giving.
- Oversee build out and implementation of data systems, reporting tools, analytics, and operating procedures to inform strategy, implement tactics, track results, and develop our organizational capacity.
- Establish policies and practices that reflect excellence, integrity, and industry best standards in fundraising and communications.
Board and Lay Leader Engagement
- Serve as lead staff for and partner with the Boardβs Development Committee to engage lay leaders in cultivating and stewarding donor relationships.
- Share regular reports and updates to support informed, mission-aligned decision-making.
- Equip clergy and lay leaders to communicate the Case for Support with confidence, clarity, and conviction.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
- Significant experience in nonprofit development, advancement, or philanthropy, with a track record of growing annual giving and securing major gifts.
- Experience building or leading a development or advancement team and working effectively with senior leadership and volunteer leaders.
- Demonstrated success cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual donors, including at the major gift level.
- Strong storytelling, writing, and communication skills, with the ability to connect narrative, vision, and financial support.
- Ability to create strategy for and implement systems to leverage data and analytics to inform strategy and measure progress.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, relationship driven environment, including some evenings and weekends.
- Familiarity with Jewish communal life or experience in a faith-based setting is helpful but not required. A genuine respect for Jewish tradition and openness to learning are essential.
- CFRE certification is strongly preferred, or a demonstrated commitment to professional growth in the advancement field.

The Opportunity
- Level 5 Partnership Advancement upon start.

The Practice
Adventist Health Lodi Memorial β Lodi, California
- A 214-bed hospital which supports 10 med/surg ICU beds and six (6) ORs.
- The group staffs multiple outpatient facilities, all within a short drive of the hospital.
- In-house OB.
- The pediatric population is healthy, and the laboring patients are generally low risk.
- The surgical staff is facile with the two daVinci robots onsite, taking the next step in laparoscopic surgery.
- Same-day surgery cases for additional positions that dilute the call burden.
- Case mix includes orthopedics, general surgery, gynecological surgery, urology, ENT, and labor & delivery.
- No trauma, no cardiac, and no neurosurgery. No pressure to publish. There are no take back hearts or strokes for clot retrieval.
- Minor trauma (i.e., ground level falls) and while there are emergencies, they tend to be urgent, not emergent.
- With over 10,000 cases a year there is plenty of work. Come be a part of it!

Unit Description: The Cardiovascular Unit provides professional nursing care to out-patients for planned procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, Non-Invasive Cardiology, Interventional Radiology Lab, and a variety of Radiology procedures. This dynamic 15 bay unit provides Pre- and Post-Procedural care. You will be part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team dedicated to patient & family-centered care with responsibility for treating a diverse patient population. We are a Level I Tertiary care hospital, providing care with state-of-the-art technology. You will be part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team dedicated to patient & family-centered care. We also support the professional development of our nurses, providing opportunities for education through conferences and Board Certification. Our nurses also have the opportunity to advance through the Clinical Advancement and Recognition Program (CARP). Our unit is open Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
On-call: There are occasional On Call shifts from 6:30 p.m.- 9:30 p.m depending on the FTE. The 0.6 FTE position requires one On Call shift/week.
Requirements:
- Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont required.
- ADN required, BSN preferred.
- Appropriate experience in specific clinical area. Varies by unit.

Plumbing & HVAC Project Manager
This role is designed for a high-potential Foreman eager to grow into broader project leadership with development support, combining your proven field instincts with strategic oversight for greater impact and career advancement.
Overview We are seeking a skilled, hands-on tradespersonβideally a proven Job Site Foremanβwith deep field experience in plumbing and HVAC to step up into this Estimator / Project Manager role. This position offers the opportunity to take full ownership of projects from pre-construction estimating through successful closeout, building on your field expertise while developing estimating, budgeting, and client-facing skills. You'll serve as the primary point of accountability for project success, working closely with the Outside Superintendent, field teams, clients, and general contractors to deliver safe, on-time, on-budget work that meets or exceeds expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Estimating & Pre-Construction Prepare accurate, detailed bids for plumbing and HVAC projects, including labor, materials, equipment, subs, and general conditions. Review plans, specs, and addenda; identify risks, value-engineering opportunities, and scope clarifications/exclusions. Participate in bid reviews, negotiations, contract finalization, and buy-out.
- Project Turnover & Planning Lead project turnover meetings to clearly transfer knowledge to the field team (Superintendent and Foreman). Cover scope, schedule, manpower, logistics, safety, long-lead items, permits, and heavy equipment needs.
- Project Execution & Management Manage contracts, budgets, schedules, and cost tracking/forecasting. Monitor productivity, control costs, and address issues proactively. Handle change orders: identify, price, negotiate, and document changes. Coordinate internally with field leadership to resolve RFIs, sequencing, and constructability challenges.
- External Coordination & Communication Act as primary contact for general contractors, owners, engineers, and inspectors. Manage RFIs, submittals, approvals, and trade coordination to prevent conflicts/delays.
- Safety, Quality, & Compliance Enforce job-specific safety plans, support incident response, and ensure work meets codes, specs, and quality standards. Oversee procurement, delivery of materials/equipment (including long-lead HVAC items), and coordination of crane lifts/rigging.
- Closeout & Continuous Improvement Lead punch lists, as-builts, O&M manuals, warranties, final inspections, billing, and lien releases. Participate in post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and refine processes.
Qualifications & Ideal Background
- Extensive hands-on experience as a Job Site Foreman or equivalent in commercial/industrial plumbing and/or HVAC construction.
- Strong field knowledge of plumbing/HVAC systems, installation methods, safety protocols, and trade coordination.
- Proven ability to lead crews, manage daily operations, and deliver projects safely and efficiently.
