This position will review the Customer specifications and related documentation and compare it to Company standards, using this comparison to provide an effective solution for the Customer.
The Application Engineer will also assist the Estimating and Purchasing groups in preparing detailed breakdowns of equipment costs.
This position will, from time to time, assist the Business Development and Sales departments with customer visits to discuss topics including Company product offerings, and solutions to Customer concerns.
The Application Engineer may also perform site visits to evaluate Customer needs or issues or to assist in Company product installation.

Review Customer specifications on structural equipment offerings to verify Regulatory requirements are met.
Use engineering knowledge to modify product designs to improve performance or meet specific projects constraints.
Assist in new product design and R&D efforts by using engineering knowledge and skills.
Communicate with customers through the Project Manager to ensure proper product selection and design.
Provide technical support to Sales team and Customers.

This is an onsite role with regular support required in a production missile integration facility.
This position requires strong communication skills to collaborate across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality. Experience with hardware integration and test, supplier first article inspections, production work instructions and failure investigation principals are strongly desired.

The Principal Mechanical Design Engineer (Data Center Infrastructure) is a technical leader responsible for the architecture, integration, and validation of advanced mechanical systems supporting hyperscale data center environments. This role is responsible for defining system performance requirements, developing technical specifications, selection and integration of critical components, and leading mechanical design from concept through production release. Responsibilities include wetted material selection, thermal and structural analysis, fastening strategies, component layout, and design for manufacturability. Lead the end-to-end mechanical design and engineering of hyperscale Data Center Infrastructure (DCI) systems, including liquid-cooled rack assemblies, CDUs, manifolds, enclosures, structural frames, and associated hydronic piping systems.
Serve as the technical authority for single-phase and two-phase liquid cooling architectures, including primary and secondary loop design, in-rack distribution, and system integration within hyperscale data center environments.
Define and validate operational performance requirements for liquid-cooled infrastructure, including pressure ratings, hydrostatic limits, temperature ranges, flow rates and uniformity, thermal expansion, durability, and serviceability.
Design, analyze, and validate machined components, welded fabrications, manifolds, and structural systems using advanced engineering principles, including stress analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), flow modeling, and structural load calculations to ensure mechanical integrity and code compliance.
Lead wetted material selection and compatibility analysis for liquid cooling systems, including corrosion mitigation strategies, surface treatments, cleanliness standards, and long-term durability considerations.
Develop and review CAD models and complete technical data packages using CREO, SolidWorks, or equivalent tools; Author and approve technical specifications for piping systems, rack-level cooling infrastructure, and hydronic components, including installation guidelines, maintenance procedures, testing requirements, and compliance with applicable standards (ASME, ISO).
Establish and oversee validation protocols including hydrostatic pressure testing, leak detection and mitigation, flow resistance analysis, and corrosion verification to ensure regulatory compliance and operational reliability.
Evaluate customer design proposals and technical specifications to assess feasibility, manufacturability, cost, and risk; provide recommendations to optimize performance and total cost of ownership.

General Duties

Overview
The Residential Design Department Leader will oversee and grow Bliffert’s Residential Design Department, ensuring a best-in-class customer experience and operational efficiency. This individual will serve as the primary liaison between homeowners, builders, and Bliffert, leading the design intake process, coordinating the team of designers, and managing customer expectations and payments.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the design team.
- Serve as the first point of contact for all residential home design inquiries.
- Conduct consultations to qualify clients and establish budgets.
- Review and process customer intake forms and credit applications.
- Lead client meetings (virtual or in-person) to gather design goals and fill in any planning gaps.
- Maintain and manage the active design project log and assign projects to team designers.
- Track designer hours for billing and send invoices for site visits and extra revisions.
- Approve final plans and oversee delivery of prints and digital files.
- Promote internal material sales (lumber, windows, trusses, etc.) and track full-package eligibility for design fee refunds.
- Recruit, hire, and coach new design team members.
- Evaluate customer satisfaction and adjust team workflows as needed.
- Conduct performance reviews and counsel designers to support professional growth and accountability.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in residential home design, CAD, SoftPlan, chief architect, or Revit
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple customer relationships and project timelines
- Compliant in residential building codes and Wisconsin UDC
- Familiarity with estimating processes and construction methods
