Locum Tenens Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) opportunity in Staten Island, New York (NY 10310) with a strong focus on OB anesthesia and additional general anesthesia coverage as needed. This is a travel (locum tenens) assignment working under MD supervision within an anesthesia care team model.

  • Employment Type: Travel (Locum Tenens)
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,330–$6,670
  • Location: Staten Island, NY 10310
  • Start Date: 02/09/2026
  • End Date: 10/31/2026
  • Duration: 38 weeks (assignment length may vary based on privileging and coverage needs)
  • Schedule: Overnight 12-hour shifts with in-house call (12 hr), 7:00 PM–7:00 AM; weekday overnight shift with weekend/holiday coverage as needed
  • Shifts per Week: 3
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Shift Duration: 12 hours
  • Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Weekend/holiday coverage required as needed
  • Overtime: Expected based on case volume and coverage needs
  • Care Team Model: MD supervision; CRNA-to-MD ratio ~3:1 (MDs also perform cases)
  • Charting/EMR: iPro and paper
  • Anesthesia Rooms: 10

CRNA Job Requirements (New York)

  • Experience: CRNA experience preferred
  • Licensure: Active New York RN license required (candidates needing to obtain a state license are not accepted)
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program
  • Certification: Current CRNA certification/recertification through the appropriate national certifying body
  • Clinical Readiness: Comfortable providing OB coverage and responding to urgent/emergent needs
  • Professional Skills: Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-centered decision-making in a fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities (OB & General Anesthesia)

  • Perform comprehensive pre-anesthesia assessments and develop individualized anesthesia care plans
  • Obtain and/or verify patient consent; discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
  • Provide anesthesia services including induction, maintenance, and emergence for OB and general cases
  • Continuously monitor patient physiological status and respond to changes with appropriate clinical interventions
  • Deliver primarily obstetric anesthesia coverage with support for general anesthesia cases as needed
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, obstetric teams, nursing staff, and perioperative personnel to ensure safe, efficient patient care
  • Document anesthesia care accurately using site charting processes (iPro and paper)
