Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) Organization is seeking Associate Mission Systems Engineers to join our team in Tukwila, WA .

BDS has an exciting opportunity on the United States Air Force (USAF) E-7A Program for Mission Systems Engineers. The Mission Systems Team is responsible for design, procurement, and integration of the full Mission Systems capability onboard the E-7A.

The E-7 is the world’s most advanced, capable, and reliable Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) platform, having proven itself in operations around the world. Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) KC-46 Tanker Program is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, and inclusive First Line Communications and Navigations Engineering Manager to lead the Communications and Navigations Systems team from either Tukwila, WA or Everett, WA .

This is an exciting time in the program as we partner with our US Air Force customer for enhanced mission systems upgrades as well as new international customers to grow the business. In this role you will be responsible for the engineering management of an integrated communication suite and aircraft navigations subsystem of electronics hardware. Leadership responsibilities will include management of the engineering team responsible for all aspects of the avionics hardware, including the design/architecture, integration, lab/aircraft testing, airworthiness certification, new business proposals, and supplier technical management. In addition, you will be in charge of managing the financial labor and material budgets as the Control Account Manager (CAM) for the team.

The Boeing KC-46 “Pegasus” is the new US Air Force aerial refueling tanker aircraft designed to support multi-role missions including refueling, cargo/passenger transport, and medevac airlift. The KC-46 is a military commercial derivative aircraft based on the Boeing 767-2C aircraft and modified per US Air Force specifications for the primary mission of aerial refueling US and Allied aircraft. The KC-46 accomplishes this refueling mission using either the Hose & Drogue or the Boom systems, which are capable of transferring fuel at rates of 400 or 1,200 gallons per minute, respectively. The KC-46 is also equipped with a suite of tactical situational awareness systems and self-defensive systems that allow the aircraft to provide closer support to combat aircraft when performing missions.

This position will report to the KC-46 Mission Systems Avionics (MSA) Senior Manager and will represent the Communications and Navigation Systems team for the KC-46 Tanker Program.

Position Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership, project management, and technical guidance to the engineering teams responsible for the system design/architecture, airworthiness certification, technical supplier management, production & fleet sustainment support, and RCCA investigations.
• Control Account Manager (CAM) for the team; responsible for ensuring up to date staffing forecasts, proper employee charging, and that costs and schedules remain on plan.

This position represents Boeing P-8 engineering as an integral part of a multi-disciplined team. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, customers, and technical subject matter experts.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in aviation systems engineering with a focus on safety, teamwork, and customer service. This role requires frequent interactions with cross-functional teams, maintenance personnel, and US Navy customers, necessitating excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Position Responsibilities:

• Provide expert support for the troubleshooting and resolution of mission systems issues for the P-8 aircraft, focusing on avionics and electrical systems; systems will include, but are not limited to: electrical/electronic, communication & navigation, flight control & avionics systems, mission systems, landing gear, APU, Hydraulic, Fuel, Environmental, and engine systems.
• Effectively troubleshoot and resolve difficult, intermittent, chronic, or complex system problems consistent with operational protocols through the P-8 aircraft lifecycle.
• Work under minimal direction to support US Navy customer with troubleshooting efforts to diagnose and resolve mission system faults for in service P-8 fleet.
• Augment standard troubleshooting and repair technologies with innovative approaches.
• Document troubleshooting and repair solutions and supporting data in both Boeing internal and US Navy customer computing systems as applicable.
• Lead enhancements, improvements, and revisions to P-8 fleet command media; support updates to operational procedures and documentation relevant to P-8 in service fleet to drive engineering disposition process efficiencies and mitigate recurrent/repeat technical issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Engineering coordination, independence, and technical acumen along with frequent interaction re: US Military personnel.
• Represent P-8 fleet and advocate for customer priorities at internal Boeing meetings.
• Coordination and communication with P-8 engineering personnel in Boeing Global Services (BGS), Boeing Defense and Space (BDS), and Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) at all levels.

The Military Commercial Derivative Aircraft (MCDA) Boing Global Services (BGS) support equipment engineering team seeks an Associate and Experienced Level Support Maintenance Analyst in Tukwila, WA. The Maintenance Analyst will be part of a team researching and assessing engineering changes to determine impact on maintenance operations. The MCDA team supports all derivative programs in the Puget Sound region (KC-46, VC-25B and E-7A).

Primary responsibilities:

• Develop support program plans and schedules, validate standard deliverables and supports trade studies for platform subsystems. Research, documents and provides technical information and supports the establishment of processes to develop and maintain support products, engineering data and integrated support infrastructure.
• Work with supplier data to analyze and integrate it into the MCDA support system.
• Work as technical team member on proposal team. Evaluate requirements, write Basis of Estimates (BOE), Statement of Work (SOW).
• Perform evaluation of Product Revision Record (PRRs) and design related changes for support equipment.
• Perform System Support Analysis (SSA) tasks for MCDA programs.
• Participate in Industry Steering Committee (ISC) and Working Group meetings.
• Work with Engineering and FAA through all phases of certification; Amended Type Certification (ATC), Supplemental Type Certification (STC) and Military Type Certification (MTC).
• Work with Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) in the creation, tracking and oversight of CITAPS (Commercial Item Transfer at Price) contracts.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience) :

• Experience gathering, preparing and analyzing technical data for the development of support products including logistics engineering, logistics support analysis, technical publications, support equipment, spares, provisioning, field services, maintenance, etc., supporting product life cycle
• 1+ years of experience in reading and interpreting technical publications and/or maintenance manuals.

Position Responsibilities

• Lead Subsonic Flight Demonstrator (SFD) EME Systems Integration through program milestones
• Provide executive level briefings and progress reports
• Communicate and coordinate with Boeing Commercial Aircraft teams (EME, Systems Integration, Structures, …)
• Develop and validate electromagnetic requirements for electrical/electronic systems, mechanical systems, fuel systems, interconnects and structures
• Optimize design solution options and create tools to enable inform design decisions

• Support SFD project management by coordinating the development of work statements, schedule, and budget.

Basic Qualifications
