American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for inpatient rehab with experience in high-acuity acute care settings and Epic EMR proficiency.
Details
- Position is in an inpatient rehab unit within a large academic hospital setting
- Care is provided Monday through Friday, either 8:00am–4:00pm or 9:00am–5:00pm
- Patient population includes high-acuity cases, especially ICU, Step-Down, and Cardiac
- EPIC is used for charting and EMR documentation
- Travelers may be required to float to a nearby sister hospital
Requirements
- Active NJ Physical Therapy license required if applicable
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program required
- 0–4 years of Physical Therapist experience preferred, ideally in acute care
- Experience in large acute care or academic medical settings highly preferred
- Board Certification as a Specialist in a relevant acute care area is preferred
- References, application, skills checklist, and license verification required for consideration
Additional Information
- Duties include patient evaluation, developing treatment plans, performing interventions, and providing patient and family education
- Role involves documentation of care, appropriate billing, and supporting competency development for other clinicians
- May serve as a clinical instructor for students and participate in new staff orientation

Summary:
The Interventional Radiology (IR) Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing minimally invasive procedures in the IR lab. This role involves pre-procedure assessment, intra-procedure monitoring, sedation administration, and post-procedure recovery management. The IR Nurse works closely with radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety, comfort, and optimal procedural outcomes.
Essential Work Functions:
- Perform comprehensive pre-procedure assessments, including reviewing medical history and lab results
- Educate patients and families about IR procedures, sedation, and post-procedure care
- Administer and monitor moderate sedation, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Monitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, and oxygenation levels during procedures
- Assist physicians during procedures, ensuring proper positioning, sterile technique, and instrument handling
- Recognize and respond to complications, escalating care when necessary
- Provide post-procedure monitoring and recovery care, including pain management and patient discharge education
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, medications, and procedural details
- Collaborate with IR technologists, radiologists, and other healthcare team members to deliver coordinated care
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Required Essential Skills:

- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
