We're looking for Intensive Care Unit RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in Winston Salem, NC. The right nurse should have 1-2 years recent acute care experience. Read below for more requirements.

As an ICU Travel Nurse, you'll be responsible for evaluating and monitoring patients in an Intensive Care Unit setting. ICU RNs provide the most direct care to patients in life-threatening situations, documenting and providing physician-directed care, assessing and implementing patient care plans, and delegating to other care providers as appropriate. As an ICU RN you will also be providing education and support to patient families, possibly for long-term care needs.

As an ICU Travel Nurse, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• 
  
• Provide basic bedside care.
  
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
  
• Order and evaluate diagnostic tests.
  
• Take samples for lab work, order corresponding lab work and interpret reports.
  
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment, and interpret and record electronic displays.
  
• Ensure proper placement and functioning of catheters, leads and tubing.
  
• Communicate patients' conditions to family members.
  

• Schedule: Full-time (40 hours), 6:45A-3:15P with an occasional late day if a case runs over. M-F,  no weekends, no major holidays & no call! 
• Department: Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC), Operating Room (OR) position.
• Location: Hawthorne Surgical Center, 1999 South Hawthorne Road, Winston Salem
• Unit Info: Some of the common procedures consist of Opthalmology, Pain & Podiatry.
• Requirements: Requires at least 1 year of recent OR experience. Candidates with Interventional Radiology experience can be considered as well.

• 2 Year / Associate Degree, required.  Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.  4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
• One year of ASC, PACU or operating room experience, preferred.
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.  ACLS and PALS, preferred.
• Must have a thorough understanding of role of RN and the ability to carry out the functions as stated in the appropriate relevant state nurse practice act. Ability to set priorities and organize workload of unit. Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient’s age. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Proficient in telephone screening and interviewing skills. Required.

• The Registered Nurse for Cardiac Pre‑ and Post‑Procedure Unit provides comprehensive care for patients with heart failure, those recovering from CAS (coronary artery stenting) procedures, and individuals undergoing complex cardiac interventions. • Associate’s Degree (ADN) or above nursing

He/she is also responsible for the coordination of the telephone pre-admission assessment process for patients in the ASC environment
