- Unit: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) / Cardiovascular OR/n
- Shift: 4 x 10-hour day shifts (07:00 - 17:30)/n
- Hours per Week: 40/n
- Contract Duration: 12 weeks (March 30, 2026 – June 22, 2026)/n
- On-Call: CV call required per month (including some weekends)/n
- Weekend Requirement: As needed for call coverage/n
- Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics/n
- Daily Census: 60–70 (high-volume cardiovascular caseload)/n
/n/nJob Requirements / Qualifications/n
/n
- Minimum 3 years of recent CVOR RN experience (perioperative cardiovascular nursing)/n
- Previous travel nursing experience required/n
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required/n
- Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license (must be in-hand prior to start)/n
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required/n
- CNOR certification preferred (cardiovascular OR experience strongly desired)/n
- COVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccines required (medical exemptions considered for COVID-19 only)/n
- Must provide active license, completed skills checklist, and two recent references (one from a supervisor/manager/charge RN within the last year)/n
/n/nPrimary Responsibilities/n
/n
- Deliver expert perioperative nursing care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)/n
- Assist with complex cardiovascular surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes/n
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergent cases/n
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the interdisciplinary surgical team/n
- Maintain accurate perioperative documentation and uphold regulatory and hospital standards/n
- Support, educate, and mentor fellow staff and perioperative team members/n
- Adhere to sterile technique, surgical protocols, and all hospital policies and compliance requirements/n
