This full-time position, with a 37.5 hours/week commitment, will be based at Forest Hills Elementary.
The successful candidate will be working in a low incidence classroom, serving 1st-5th grade students.
The maximum caseload will be 12 students, with the support of 3 other paraprofessionals and 1 SPED teacher.
One of the key aspects of this role involves being comfortable with toileting.
Responsibilities: As a Consulting Paraprofessional, your primary responsibility will be to provide support and care for our students, ensuring they receive the highest quality of service.
Your responsibilities will include: 1.
Assisting in the design and implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs) for each student.
2.
Collaborating with a team of paraprofessionals and a SPED teacher to create a supportive and effective learning environment.
3.
Providing assistance with toileting, ensuring the comfort and dignity of each student.
4.
Monitoring and documenting student progress and behavior, reporting any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
5.
Facilitating communication between students, parents, and staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student care and education.
6.
Participating in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in the healthcare and education fields.
Qualifications: We are seeking a professional with a strong commitment to providing exceptional care and support for our students.
The qualifications for this role include: 1.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the healthcare or education industry.
2.
Experience working with students in the 1st-5th grade age range.
3.
Comfortability with toileting and other personal care tasks.
4.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with students, parents, and staff.
5.
Knowledge of best practices and current trends in healthcare and education for students with special needs.
6.
A commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
7.
