Summary:
The Ultrasound Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed, and help to facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The Ultrasound Technologist must be able to handle the movement, set-up, and operation of medical ultrasound equipment. The technologist will demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed or required. The technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. Expectation to participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within their scope of licensure. The technologist will adhere to, and maintain, the expected imaging competencies as outlined by management. Summary:
Medical School graduate with a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy degree from an approved medical school, or possession of Standard Certificates as issued by the Educational Council for Foreign Medical Graduates. Reviews and evaluates the credentials of any supervised Nurse Practitioner(s), Clinical Staff or Physician Assistant(s) in conjunction with all state and federal regulations when the above ancillary professionals work with the physician in a mutually agreeable fashion. Participates in associate performance reviews as directed.
? Encouraged to participate in community education functions and encouraged to assist community health groups in a medical advisory capacity.
? Seeks methods for cost containment within the assigned area of responsibility. Assists management as necessary, including periodic review to ensure that the practice is efficient and cost effective for the services provided.
? Participates in managed care plans as directed and does so in an efficient and cost effective manner as outlined by CPN?s Medical Management Program if in effect in the physician?s marketplace.
? Works with management to establish and maintain appropriate charges for the services provided including the submission of all charges, accurately coded, and submitted within company guidelines and policies.
? Maintains knowledge base necessary to appropriately code for services provided, including participation in on-site medical record internal audits and selected educational efforts as prescribed by CPN.
? Uses oral and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas in a clear, positive manner that is consistent with the CHRISTUS mission.

All newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency program or other specific orientation.
Skills completion and competency completion will be achieved with the preceptor at the bedside and documented through the program's tracking software.
