Engineering Technician (Firearms R&D)

Bachstein Consulting is growing, and we’re looking for a hands-on Engineering Technician to support our firearms research, development, and testing efforts.
This is a shop-based, hands-on role working closely with engineers to build prototypes, assemble test hardware, support range testing, and keep development programs moving quickly. Our in-house machine shop supports rapid iteration and low-rate production, allowing ideas to move quickly from concept to functional hardware.
This role is best suited for someone who enjoys building, troubleshooting, and working with mechanical systems in a fast-moving development environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and modify prototype firearm components and test hardware
- Support engineering test setups and range testing activities
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues during prototype builds and testing
- Maintain and organize parts, components, and test equipment
- Assist engineers with prototype fabrication and development work
- Record and document test observations and hardware changes
- Help prepare and ship components for outside processing when needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the shop and lab
Required Qualifications
- Eperience assembling or troubleshooting mechanical systems
- Comfort working with hand tools and precision measuring tools
- Ability to work safely and carefully around firearms systems
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to follow technical instructions and work independently
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in a machine shop, prototype shop, or engineering lab
- Familiarity with firearms platforms and mechanical operation
- Experience with prototype assembly or engineering test environments
- Experience using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)

Work Environment
This is an on-site, hands-on role in a small engineering-driven team. Work will include time in the machine shop, lab, and test environments supporting prototype development and firearms testing.

The HR Admin Assistant provides crucial administrative support to the Human Resources department, ensuring that daily operations run smoothly and efficiently. This role involves a variety of responsibilities, including handling employee inquiries, processing employee paperwork, assisting with onboarding and interviews, maintaining confidential employee records, and supporting compliance efforts. The HR Admin Assistant works closely with HR team members, candidates, employees, and leadership to deliver exceptional customer service and support the overall HR function.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensures EXCELLENT Customer Service is maintained and questions and concerns are escalated properly

Required Skills/Abilities:

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and HRIS systems (experience with ADP or similar software is a plus).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful Completion of a Background Check
- At least 1-2 years of administrative experience, preferably in an HR or recruitment environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with HRIS data entry or HR management systems.
- Knowledge of employee onboarding processes, background checks, and credential verification.
- Experience in recruitment, particularly within education or teaching environments.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
