Unit Description: Inpatient Psychiatric RNs work on both of our mental health care units: a 16-bed locked unit that cares for both voluntary & involuntary individuals and a 12-bed locked unit designed primarily for voluntary individuals requiring acute mental health care. Our RNs actively participate in treatment plans, treatment rounds, psychiatric assessment and care, along with medical/surgical assessment and care. This position is part of the multidisciplinary team comprised of MHT/LNAs, RNs, Providers, Social Worker/Case Managers, and Group Therapists. RNs are trained to cover the Charge RN role and to precept.

We offer individualized self-care and parenting assessment, education and support; childbirth preparation and lactation support; developmental and play support to maximize each family’s physical, social and emotional strengths. We provide skilled nursing services for pregnant/postpartum people with higher risk pregnancies due to medical, psychiatric and/or substance use disorder diagnoses; children up to 18 years of age with a medical diagnosis, including emotional adjustment support to children, their families and their care providers.

Nurse Residency Programs across the health partners are designed to provide new nurses with the knowledge, skills, and critical behaviors needed to be successful starting their new career. Newly graduated nurses will engage with experienced nurses, nurse educators, and subject matter experts in a series of classes, hands on skills sessions, and precepted clinical experiences in order to be able to safely and confidently provide quality care to patients. Clinical preceptors will facilitate patient care experiences and provide direct supervision of care as you demonstrate skills and behaviors at the bedside. Department Description: Are you interested in developing deep relationships with families and supporting their long-term strengths and health?  We’re looking to expand our team with a detail-oriented creative thinker who enjoys problem solving and creative community collaborations.

We support families through pregnancy, postpartum and the early childhood years until age 6 in families without medical concerns and up to age 18 in families with children who have medical conditions requiring skilled nursing care. Our nurses and family support workers focus on prevention and early intervention, collaborating with numerous community service providers, identifying and addressing developmental challenges and/or psycho-social concerns.

We offer individualized self-care and parenting assessment, education and support; childbirth preparation and lactation support; developmental and play support to maximize each family’s physical, social and emotional strengths. We provide skilled nursing services for pregnant/postpartum people with higher risk pregnancies due to medical, psychiatric and/or substance use disorder diagnoses; children up to 18 years of age with a medical diagnosis, including emotional adjustment support to children, their families and their care providers.

Our full-time positions are Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm, which is amazing schedule for parents or those who want work/life balance. There is one rotating on-call weekend day every 4-5 weeks.

Minimum Requirements:

• One to two years of obstetrical nursing experience, experience with assessing patients throughout pregnancy and postpartum.

• Child health nursing experience preferred.

• Human services experience such as collaboration with community providers, service and care coordination.
• Central line experience preferred, will support and train incumbent who expresses willingness to learn.

On-call: Rotating weekends (approximately every 4 weeks) and holidays.

Incentives
  • $10,000 Sign-On Bonus for external applicants (prorated for part-time roles)

  • Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

  • $6,000 Relocation Bonus for those relocating 120+ miles from previous work location

  • Mileage reimbursed at federal gas rates

Requirements:



  • Current RN licensure recognized by the State of Vermont required.
