Key Responsibilities

Department Leadership

  • Direct departmental activities and resources to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Develop and implement goals, policies, and standards consistent with clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements.
  • Integrate evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.

Operations & Compliance

  • Evaluate pharmacy operations, patient care delivery, information technology systems, service levels, and complaint management.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and pharmacy laws.
  • Coordinate and direct internal and external audits.

Staff Management

  • Plan and monitor staffing activities including hiring, orientation, evaluation, and continuing education.
  • Supervise, train, and develop pharmacy staff.
  • Conduct performance reviews and administer corrective actions as needed.

Financial & Administrative Management

  • Prepare, monitor, and evaluate departmental budgets.
  • Ensure department operates within allocated funding.
  • Provide leadership and guidance in operational decision-making.

Required Qualifications

  • Pharmacy License: Current Utah license or ability to obtain before start date.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an accredited program. Doctorate in Pharmacy preferred.
  • Experience: Prior acute care hospital experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD).
  • Experience managing staff and departmental operations in a hospital setting.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and pharmacy compliance standards.
  • Ability to manage departmental budgets and operational performance.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
