Summary Baylor College of Medicine at CHRISTUS Children's is seeking a faculty member to fill a Full-time position in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Gastroenterology with specialization in Motility Disorders. This position comes with a faculty appointment within the Department of Pediatrics, a competitive salary, and full benefits package.
Job Duties Clinical responsibilities include ambulatory and inpatient care, consultative services, and performance of general GI procedures. The candidate is expected to participate in the supervision and education of medical students, residents, and fellows in Gastroenterology. The division has also established the first of its kind Advanced Endoscopy fellowship and has successfully trained five fellows. The Voelker Clinical Research Center provides assistance for interested faculty who wish to pursue clinical research.
Outpatient clinical care for children with all types of intestinal, hepatic, pancreatic and nutritional disorders.
Inpatient care, consultation, and emergency room consultation for children with all types of intestinal, hepatic, pancreatic and nutritional disorders.
General pediatric gastrointestinal procedures (e.g., upper endoscopy and colonoscopy with related therapeutic procedures)
Minimum Qualifications M.D., Ph.D. / M.D. / D.O. degree, or equivalent
Completion of an ACGME approved fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology (or equivalent)
Licensed by the Texas Medical Board
Board Certification by the American Board of Pediatrics, subspecialty certification in pediatric gastroenterology medicine (or eligible for same)

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Minimum of five years of infection prevention experience within a hospital setting required with a Baccalaureate degree in nursing or higher required. Three years of recent infection prevention experience in an acute care hospital setting is required. Preferred: post-graduate courses in epidemiology, infection prevention or disease control, completion of CDC or APIC sponsored infection prevention training is desirable. Supervisory and managerial experience is desirable. Working knowledge of statistics and epidemiological principles is required. Computer skills required include proficiency in the following Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint; graphics display programs such as QI Macros, as well as a level of comfort with learning and adapting to new programs
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Current certification in Infection Prevention and Control by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology is required. Must have current State of Texas professional nursing licensure

What you will do:
The MRI Technologist performs diagnostic MRI in accordance with departmental standards.
Responsibilities:
- Obtains and records a complete clinical history pertinent to examination requested.

- Instructs patient as to nature of the exam being performed.

- Documents and reports all incidents, radiation safety concerns and equipment malfunctions to coordinator in a timely fashion.

- AAS Degree in Radiologic Technology

- Current ARRT registration and NYS license required
Pay Range: $34.50 - $48.81
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.

Medical Assistant
- Demonstrates ability to recognize urgent/emergent needs of patients and initiate appropriate emergency procedures as needed.
- Demonstrates current level of knowledge of various payor regulations by functioning within those guidelines.
- Follows clinic procedure/protocol for the organization and management of the electronic medical record (i.e. test results, retrieval, filing, creation, repair, charging of electronic medical record).
- Acts to facilitate interdisciplinary communication. Utilizes other members of the health care team in assessing the patient and analyzes patient data. Assesses learning needs of the patient and significant others. Gives accurate and complete information to patient and family.
- Evaluates patient and family understanding of treatment plan and/or instructions.
- Assists with a variety of procedures, exams and/or operation of diagnostic equipment as assigned (i.e. EKG, spirometry, tympanometry, etc.).
- Maintains appropriate aseptic technique for preparation, procedures and medications administered.

- Functions according to limitations or scope of license or certification.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Successful completion of a medical assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification must be obtained within first year of employment and maintained thereafter.
- Clinic/physician office experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population serve within three (3) months of hire
