Position Purpose:
- The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT), within the Ohio Scope of Practice, provides therapeutic procedures and diagnostic testing to chronically and acutely ill patients requiring respiratory procedures.

Schedule: Part-time, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday - 8am-4pm
The responsibilities of the wound care nurse involve conducting and documenting detailed physical exams, evaluating and managing patients with wounds and extensive case management. Some of the case management functions include but are not limited to assessing and providing for wound care needs post discharge, collaborating with providers and other medical personnel and ordering equipment/supplies. This position involves working with the wound care team including physicians, physical therapists and other nurses. The nurse will be involved with educating patients and families about chronic wounds and maintaining appropriate follow up care. This nurse will be responsible for managing in-patients as well as out-patients with complex wounds, treating patients through clinical pathways, following standards of care and advanced clinical practice. This position is responsible for educating and supporting in-patient nurses on maintenance of skin integrity, prevention and treatment of skin breakdown and wounds.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Adheres to hospital nursing practice standards, demonstrates appropriate history and physical assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
Implements appropriate Nursing actions to each patient that is identified.
Thorough History and Physical’s will be done on every patient in the wound center.
Makes decisions that reflect both knowledge of facts and sound judgment.
Discusses with and includes patient and/or family significant other about planned patient care and expected outcomes and documents it.
Identifies and appropriately utilizes multidisciplinary approach to facilitate delivery of patient care.
Evaluates the patient’s/significant other’s understanding of instructions.
Gives written instructions and materials to patients and families.
Reviews preventative health measures to patient and family. Documents understanding of instructions.
Completes all charts/forms accurately and timely.
Receives and gives a knowledgeable and concise patient report to others, as necessary to demonstrate awareness of patient’s overall condition.
Initiates Clinical Pathways/Plan of Care on appropriate patient population at patients first visit.
Updates and initiates Care Plans and Pathways as changes in patient’s needs are assessed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Delaware required.
Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
At least 3 years' of clinical experience required, preferably in Wound Care.
Wound Care certification preferred; will consider those with experience and able to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
