ADA Accommodations Specialist (Remote/Hybrid)
Location: Remote (Candidate must be local to Maitland/Orlando, FL for future hybrid transition)
Job Type: Contingent / Temp-to-Perm (Long-term)
Schedule: 40 hours/week | M-Th (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), Fri (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM) | Includes one 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM rotation.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled ADA Accommodations Specialist to manage the day-to-day administration of disability-related accommodation inquiries. You will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME), facilitating the interactive process between team members, facility leaders, and medical providers to find reasonable accommodation solutions that ensure legal compliance and support our workforce.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $31.00 – $35.00 per hour (DOE)
- Orientation: Fully paid at the standard hourly rate.
Key Responsibilities
- Case Management: Manage a heavy caseload of ADA accommodation requests and inquiries with a high degree of empathy and professional rigor.
- Interactive Process: Lead discussions between team members and leadership; review clinical documentation to recommend and negotiate reasonable accommodations.
- Compliance: Ensure all actions align with ADAAA, FMLA, HIPAA, and other state/federal employment laws.
- Collaboration: Partner with HR Business Partners, Legal, Risk Management (Worker’s Comp), and Talent Acquisition to resolve complex cases.
- Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of all cases in accordance with internal SOPs and legal requirements.
Qualifications
Required:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Human Resources specifically supporting ADA accommodations.
- Expertise: Deep knowledge of ADAAA, HIPAA, and DOL regulations.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or Healthcare Management.
- Experience in a large-scale employer setting.
- Professional certifications (PHR, SHRM-CP, or CEBS).
- Experience with PeopleSoft (HCM) or CRM tools.
Working Conditions & Requirements
- Location: Currently Remote. However, if converted to a permanent AdventHealth employee, the role will transition to a Hybrid schedule (M/W/Th in-office in Maitland; Tue/Fri remote).
- Compliance: Must be able to pass a drug screen (including nicotine), background check, and provide medical/vaccination documentation (TB, Flu, etc.).
- References: 2 professional references or employment verifications required.
