Position Overview

Potomac Architectural Millwork is seeking an experienced Millwork Estimator to join our team in Woodbridge, Virginia. This position is responsible for the development, accuracy, and management of project estimates and quotations for custom architectural millwork projects.

The Estimator plays a critical role in securing profitable contracts while ensuring alignment between sales, production, and project management teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and interpret Request for Quotes (RFQs) from clients, contractors, and project managers.
• Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents to define scope of work.
• Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates using company pricing standards and margin guidelines.
• Perform detailed material takeoffs and quantify labor requirements.
• Prepare and submit vendor RFQs for specialty materials, hardware, and outsourced components.
• Develop comprehensive quote packages including pricing breakdowns, clarifications, and scope narratives.
• Provide value engineering recommendations when applicable.
• Coordinate with engineering, production, and project management to confirm feasibility and constructability.
• Maintain accurate records of all estimates within company systems.
• Participate in project handoff meetings upon award.
• Support continuous improvement of estimating procedures and pricing databases.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of continuous experience in commercial architectural millwork estimating.
• Strong understanding of high-end custom millwork including:
• Casework
• Running trim
• Wall & ceiling treatments
• Reception desks
• Integrated materials (metal, glass, stone, solid surface, laminates, custom finishes)
• Proficiency in:
• Microsoft Excel
• Bluebeam
• On-Screen Takeoff (OST) or similar software
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical ability.

Preferred:

• Associate degree or trade education in architectural drafting, construction management, or related field.
• Experience in custom commercial woodworking manufacturing environments.

General Summary of Position
MedSTAR Transport within MedStar Health is actively seeking Emergency Vehicle Operators/ Emergency Medical Techs to provide basic patient medical care during interfacility ambulance transport. You will perform medical procedures under the supervision of a transport paramedic, transport nurse, or established protocol.

Cannot be employed by MedStar Health in the same role within the past two years.

Payout - $8,000 Total with an 18-month commitment
$3,000 to start (paid at successful completion of orientation/probation)
$2,500 at 12 months
$2,500 at 18 months

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operates the ground ambulance obeying all driving laws.
• Conducts an inspection of the assigned ambulance at the beginning of each shift to ensure the ambulance is ready and safe for use.
• As part of the programs safety management system, provides feedback and participates in program safety initiatives.
• Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
• Ensures cleanliness and appropriate par levels of supplies in transport vehicle(s).
• Establishes and maintains professional radio communications with MedSTAR and other agencies, adhering to appropriate FCC protocols.
• Initiates department standing orders in appropriate patients. Performs basic airway techniques including oxygen therapy. May perform bag-mask ventilation according to established departmental protocols in emergency situations.
• Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment of caring for patients and families. Provides basic patient comfort measures during procedures. When necessary, provides environmental support to expedite timely patient admission or transfer. Identifies and acts upon opportunities to improve the environment of care.
• Participates in MedSTAR Transport safety program. Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and hospital in community outreach efforts.

Minimal Qualifications
Education

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Successful completion of an approved EMT course required
• Completion of an approved emergency vehicle driving course prior to release from orientation required

Experience

• 1-2 years EMT experience strongly preferred

License / Certification

• NREMT - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians-Basic (EMT-B) required
• EMT - Emergency Medical Tech in the District of Columbia within 30 Days required
• EMT - Emergency Medical Tech in Maryland required
• MedSTAR Transport or Mid Atlantic Air Transportation Services affiliation as an EMT prior to release from orientation required
• CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required
• Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit.
• FEMA ICS 100 Course prior to release from orientation required
• FEMA ICS 200 Course FEMA IS-200.c Basic Incident Command systems for Initial Response prior to release from orientation required
• DL - Valid State Driver's License in good standing required
• No more than four points assigned to driver's license and must maintain a satisfactory driving record (no more than four points).
• Completion of approved Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (e.g., CEVO, EVOC) prior to release from orientation

You will also participate in monthly Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

What we're looking for

• Master's Degree in Social Work accredited by the Council of Social Work Education (CSWE).
• Current licensure (in good standing) in applicable state is required unless employed in the state of AZ, PA or Guam. Must meet any practice requirement(s) for the applicable state.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Proficiency in all USRC clinical applications required within 90 days of hire.

Preferred

• Previous experience in providing social services to dialysis patients preferred.

Primary Duties:

• Documents and charges for patient care activities painting a clear picture of the patient's course of care under supervision of licensed physical therapist according to the state's requirement. Documents ongoing communication with the physical therapist.

• Demonstrates effective time management and meets productivity expectations. Manage an accurate schedule. Demonstrates a professional commitment to provide frictionless patient access to care through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and actions/behaviors that display empathy in our patient consumer driven environment Arranges schedule for re-evaluations and discharge summaries to be done by a physical therapist.

• Completes appropriate discharge planning, follow-up care, and determination of equipment needs in collaboration with supervising physical therapist. Demonstrates initiative in contributing innovative ideas for patient treatment. Involves patient and family as appropriate in treatment and discharge planning through education and training. Provides patient treatment services including review of pertinent historical information, safely administering modalities, and providing interventions within the treatment plan's limits under supervision of licensed physical therapist. Collaborates interventions with other team members toward an interdisciplinary approach where appropriate.

• Recognizes and documents changes/response in patient's condition and contributes to modification of the treatment plan in collaboration with, and under the supervision of, a licensed physical therapist. Provides verbal/written reports as appropriate for patient progress conferences where applicable.

• Takes initiative in pursuing and directing continuing education for professional growth and competency for self and organization. Serves as a clinical instructor to assigned students as appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant school.

• Associate degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

• Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia licensure required as deemed necessary for your specific location(s).

• American Heart Association's BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation) certification.
