Overview: Mercy Hospital Southeast OR includes general surgery, 2 DaVinci Xis, urology, plastics, gyn, orthopedic, neurosurgery and cardiothoracic surgery.
Periop 101 through AORN is offered for new registered nurses.
Our staff provides a comforting environment for patients that are undergoing a surgical procedure.
We work alongside preop staff, anesthesia providers, surgeons and recovery staff to safely provide care to patients needing an operation.
As nurses, we train on the equipment being used, proper positioning and prepping of the patient, and documentation of the patient record.
There is opportunity to cross-train and/or advance to scrub or First Assist in the cases as well.
