Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic with direct hands-on experience working on heavy construction machinery used in construction operations.
This position requires proven experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining equipment such as:

* Dozers
* Excavators
* Wheel Loaders
* Backhoes
* Skid Steers
* Rollers / Compactors
* Water Trucks
* Other heavy construction equipment used in earthwork and site development

This role is intended for mechanics with heavy construction equipment experience. Automotive-only or light-duty mechanic experience does not meet the requirements unless combined with direct heavy equipment repair experience.
Key Responsibilities
The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for performing diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy construction equipment to support daily field operations.
Responsibilities include:

* Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain issues
* Performing preventative maintenance and inspections
* Repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, cylinders, pumps, valves, and electrical components
* Identifying problems before failure occurs
* Completing repairs efficiently to reduce downtime
* Performing both shop and field service work when needed
* Communicating equipment status clearly with supervisors
* Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
* Documenting completed repairs and parts needs

Qualifications

* Minimum 3 years of direct experience as a heavy equipment mechanic working on construction equipment
* Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics
* Ability to work independently and troubleshoot equipment efficiently
* Valid driver's license required
* Basic hand tools required (specialty tools provided by company)

Preferred Experience
The following experience is strongly preferred:

* Field service repair experience
* Diagnostic software familiarity
* Bilingual English / Spanish
* Experience working on brands such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere, Case Construction Equipment, or Volvo Construction Equipment
