BayCare Medical Group  is a physician-led medical group is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join our multidisciplinary team at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida . The ideal candidate will manage complex GI, hepatobiliary, and nutritional disorders in children—from infancy through adolescence—across inpatient, outpatient, and procedural settings

The details of the position include:

  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of pediatric GI conditions, including IBS, IBD, celiac disease, reflux, hepatology, nutritional disorders, and motility issues.
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures: upper/lower GI endoscopy, polypectomy, foreign body removal, liver biopsies, G-tube placements, motility studies.
  • Provide comprehensive inpatient consultation and manage ambulatory clinics in both main and satellite locations.
  • Collaborate with dietitians, surgeons, psychologists, hepatologists, primary care providers, and allied health professionals.
  • Engage in education—mentoring pediatric residents.
  • Provide on-call coverage 1:3 for emergencies, including foreign body ingestion, GI bleeding, and liver crises.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and comply with documentation, billing, and regulatory standards.

  • Proficient in pediatric endoscopy and procedural care.
  • Experience with IBD, hepatology, nutritional rehab/motility preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to counsel children and families.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team-based clinical and academic environment.

  • Works with AHMG leadership regarding short and long term planning of physician and APP staffing 

  • Establish and implement standard clinical protocols, policies and procedures, in accordance with ACOG guidelines, for the delivery of patient care. Ensure protocols are consistently practiced across the group. Educate and correct practices that deviate.

  • Focus on the effective delivery of patient care services offered by the Practice and the Practice’s compliance with the standards of applicable accrediting bodies and regulatory agencies having jurisdiction over one or more aspects of the Practice 

  • Reasonably participate with AHMG Leadership in its investigation of patient complaints and/or claims related to the stated practices

  • Advise AHMG leadership relating to the purchase of clinical supplies, materials, and equipment necessary to practice according to the established clinical protocols

  • Serves as a mentor to new physicians added to AHMG Ob/Gyn practices.

  • Cooperate and participate with Employer in order to establish a “consumer-centric” environment and assist Employer in the management and resolution of complaints from patients and Medical Staff;

  • Make or direct the making of such reports and records as may be required by regulatory bodies, whether public or private, and by Employer;

  • Assist in the design and development of patient information, medical record, and consent forms for use within the Practice

  • Provide recommendations for in-service training of practice staff to support clinical outcomes.

  • Advise on the provision of inpatient services for hospitals with Women's Services and establish quality standards.

  • Partner with business development to provide input on growth strategies for OBGYN service lines.

Overview

AdventHealth Tampa is seeking a board-certified, experienced Urologist to serve as the Medical Director of Urology and lead the development of a new, strategically important Urology program. This is a unique opportunity to shape clinical excellence, drive innovation, and expand access to high-quality urologic care in the Tampa Bay region.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership and strategic direction for the Urology service line.
  • Collaborate with hospital administration and medical group leadership to develop and grow the program.
  • Mentor and support incoming urologists and advanced practice providers.
  • Ensure high standards of patient safety, quality, and satisfaction.
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluation of clinical staff.

Clinical Role:

  • Deliver comprehensive urologic care, including robotic surgery using DaVinci XI and SP platforms.
  • Manage a broad spectrum of urologic conditions with a focus on general urology.
  • Maintain an active clinical practice while balancing administrative responsibilities.

  • The newly opened Taneja Center for Surgery features:
    • 18 advanced operating rooms (with 6 more planned)

Qualifications:

  • Board certification in Urology
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience preferred
  • Prior leadership or administrative experience strongly preferred
  • Robotic surgery training required
