Role Description

The Founding Principal is the school's leader and is responsible for fulfilling the school’s mission and vision. The Founding Principal will achieve strong academic outcomes and foster a healthy school community that focuses on well-being, inclusion, and promoting social justice. Additionally, the Founding Principal will strive to build a lasting and sustainable organization by developing a pipeline of future leaders and creating systems for the ongoing retention and development of outstanding school teachers and staff.


Initial Responsibilities of the Founding Principal will include, but are not limited to:


  • School Founding Leadership: Serve as the Founding School Leader for Mississippi. Effectively collaborate with stakeholders during the charter approval process and initial approval of the school. Build collaborative community, academic, and operations partnerships. Engage effectively with all stakeholders, including but not limited to the school’s Board, ESP, authorizers, financing entities, city, and state education bodies. Lead student, teacher, and staff recruitment efforts. Lead efforts to ensure that effective school policies and procedures are in place. Assist with all critical components needed to successfully lead a new school through and beyond its initial years of operation.Β 
  • Organizational Leadership: Serve as the head of Mississippi Global Academy, reporting to and developing a high-functioning relationship with the School’s Board of Directors. Collaborate to develop and meet organizational goals. Lead school administrators, teachers, and staff in developing a positive school culture aligned with the school's mission, vision, and values. Create a culture of academic excellence, inclusion, and collaboration amongst the entire school community.
  • Academic Leadership: Hire, manage, evaluate, and develop a team of committed educators capable of closing the opportunity gap and fostering academic excellence. Oversee the school’s curriculum development and implementation, which will include a rigorous and engaging curriculum in all subject areas following the model provided by the school’s ESP. The Founding Principal will develop educators to utilize research-based teaching methodologies, engage in differentiation, and ensure that instruction is data-driven. Collaborate with teachers and other educators to improve their teaching practice through professional development, coaching, and collaborative planning. Oversee academic scheduling, assessments, distance learning, and curriculum. Supervise the management of Mississippi Global’s special education program, mental health services, and 504 plan (disability) obligations, including the special education department;
  • Talent Management: Recruit, select, hire, and retain school staff, including teachers and school-based support staff. Continually monitor progress on all measures of school and staff performance using the evaluation framework provided by the Board. Provide supervision, training, and evaluation of all staff.Β  Inspire a team that values diversity and inclusion to create and sustain a high-performing,Β  equitable school environment that achieves the school’s goals. Engage in leadership coaching and value constructive feedback to improve.Β 
  • Operations and Compliance Leadership: Provide leadership for the development and implementation of all school policies, including but not limited to health and safety, financial, operational and academic.Β Oversee all student recruitment and enrollment policies and activities. Manage operations staff to ensure that student transportation, food, and health services.
  • Community Outreach: Serve as the school’s liaison between the school’s employees, families, and the community to create a welcoming and fully enrolled school community. Exhibit a high degree of professionalism in all elements of this position while serving as a contributing member of the Mississippi Global Academy team and a dedicated role model for other employees. Form and maintain critical community partnerships and liaison with the community as necessary, serving as the face and the voice of the organization.Β

  • Mississippi Certified AdministratorΒ 
  • Master’s degreeΒ 
  • Three or more years as a classroom teacher AND

  • Supervisory experience, preferably of teachers and other instructional staff, is required

Experience: One (1) year of general work experience that demonstrates the ability to take charge, make sound decisions, and maintain composure in stressful situations; to learn regulations, methods, and techniques through classroom training and/or on-the-job instruction; and the ability to gather concise information through questioning, observation, and examination of documents and records; OR

Education Substitution: A bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; OR

Duties and Responsibilities

Inventory & Forecasting Manager Job Duties & Responsibilities (include travel requirements)

  • Prepare monthly recap for the VP of Sales & Marketing and VP of Operations on production, inventory, and sales history, along with 1-3 month forecast updates for the demand planning worksheet.
  • Manage ongoing demand planning process with the Director of Supply Chain and Director of Business Development to maintain appropriate product mix, service area, color needs, and inventory across plants while understanding capacity constraints for all shingle and manufactured accessories. To include building and maintaining inventory floor plans on accessory items for each plant and reloading facility.
  • Work with the Director of Supply Chain to evolve the Sales-Inventory-Operations Planning (SIOP) process over time to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Work with the Director of Supply Chain on efforts to forecast opportunities and concerns across the operations and supply chain functions.
  • Manage monthly and annual forecasting efforts for finished goods products in conjunction with the Director of Supply Chain
  • Manage existing product inventory and ordering needs based on market demand and be responsive to sales needs and trends in demand.
  • Work will all plant facilities on eliminating discontinued products in a fiscally responsible manner while actively working on making sure that inventories reflected in PS/Qlik are accurate and up to date for all facilities.
  • Work to manage, consolidate, and prioritize shipment of inventory to minimize loss and maximize profits through sales and avoid fines
  • Work with the Director of Procurement on maintaining and communicating margin/cost/price controls for all vendor accessory products through monthly reviews and profitability analysis. Assist sales and business development teams in addressing inventory available for large volume opportunities as well as daily needs.
  • Work with all plant schedulers to train best practices and continuity of practices. To include making sure production schedules are always kept up to date on People Soft.
  • Work with plant schedulers and Director of Procurement to make sure that raw materials are kept at optimal levels at each plant facility.
  • Work with IT to make needed reporting and process updates to aid all plants in being able to see and upload production and inventory.
  • Work with the plant managers and schedulers to achieve uniform processes when PIDS are updated across the division with the goal of uniformity for best practices and visibility.
  • Set and maintain safety stock targets in PeopleSoft.
  • Build inventory floor plans for all accessory items across plants and reload facilities.
  • Proactively eliminate discontinued SKUs and manage reallocation to minimize write-offs.
  • Work closely with plant schedulers to align production plans with master schedules using Shingle Tech.
  • Ensure safety stock levels and report on monthly deviations to plans
  • Collaborate with plants to ensure proper inventory and production planning
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to adjust plans as needed due to changes in demand, equipment downtime, or material delays.
