Position Overview: We're hiring a Physician Assistant in our Cranford, NJ office. This position includes Saturday shifts. The Physician Assistant will promote and maintain health by providing medical services under the supervision of a physician.

Hours: Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians to identify and address patient care issues, offer relevant insights, and implement physician instructions for effective patient care.
  • Patient Evaluation: Evaluate patient health through interviews, physical exams, and medical history reviews.
  • Diagnostic Testing: Identify medical conditions by conducting or ordering tests like X-rays, EKGs, and lab studies, and interpret the results.
  • Patient Records: Maintain detailed patient records in Athena and other electronic systems.
  • Medical Procedures: Perform various medical procedures, including administering injections, suturing, wound care, and immunizations.
  • Patient Education: Educate and counsel patients on treatment plans, growth and development, family planning, emotional well-being, and health maintenance.
  • Patient Management: Develop and implement comprehensive patient management plans for seamless care continuity.
  • Compliance: Ensure a safe and compliant work environment by adhering to established procedures, rules, and regulations, with a focus on infection control.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with federal, state, and local laws and professional requirements, and provide guidance on necessary actions.
  • Continuing Education: Stay updated with the latest medical advancements and practices by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, networking, and participating in professional societies.
  • Team Collaboration: Contribute to the growth of the healthcare team by providing information, educational opportunities, and hands-on experiences.
  • Quality Patient Care: Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to achieve common objectives and deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Physician Assistant Certification
  • Licensure: Registration & Licensure by the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners/Physician Assistant Advisory (or ability to obtain licensure by the hire date).
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in an outpatient primary care office, preferably family or internal medicine.
