What you'll do:

The setup machinist will lead the transition/changeover between production runs on various CNC machines such as mills and lathes then operate select machines through the remainder of the production run while ensuring quality parts from the work cell.

  • Properly set tools in machine locations required for set-up & perform part changeover including program retrieval and input
  • Establish work offsets (G54, G55, etc.) manually and utilizing probing technology
  • Read, understand, and reset CNC machine program codes
  • Calculate and input axis coordinates for CNC machines up to 3 axis's or use a spindle probe to determine work offsets
  • Calculate and input axis coordinates X, Y, and Z or use a spindle probe to determine work offsets
  • Utilize Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing results to make adjustments to work offsets

As a Safety Intern, you'll be part of a team implementing and overseeing the Project Safety Program including the development of site safety policies and procedures. POSITION SUMMARY
This position is accountable for supporting field operations at marine project locations for Orion. Incumbents are responsible for the operation of cranes and other hoisting equipment in the construction or repair of marine terminals and dock facilities. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Works as assigned by the Barge Foreman to ensure the successful completion of on-going or new marine construction projects.
  • Assists in unloading and assembling of crane or other hoisting equipment to be used in marine construction activities.
  • Utilizes basic skills as a hook operator in swinging rig, raising and lowering crane boom, raising and lowering load lines on the crane.
  • Operates a hydraulic rubber tire or track crane equipped with a multiple part pick-up or single line hoist suspended from a boom by a cable.
  • Maneuvers and positions loads over designated areas in a smooth, safe manner.
  • Moves hand levers and depresses pedals to rotate chassis over lift load points.
  • Utilizes load charts to determine load and radius capabilities of the crane.
  • Assists in the installation of boom and hoisting cables on the hoisting equipment.
  • Performs maintenance duties such as cleaning, greasing, oiling, and fueling of assigned equipment.
  • Performs daily safety inspection of crane and recognizes possible problem areas such as worn cables, worn bands on hoisting mechanisms, broken gears, housing, etc.

  • Be able to read, understand, and use crane load charts to determine load and radius capabilities of cranes.
  • Have general knowledge of construction rigging -- use of slings, cable chokers, spreader bars, multi-part load blocks, etc.
  • Be capable of successfully passing a crane operations certification test.

Job Purpose

Maintain operation of environmental air quality control while maintaining Federal, State and Corporate requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promote communication, resources and leadership for effective operation of plant scrubbers and dust collection systems
  • Coach and develop personnel
  • Maintain and improve emission control systems, to include hands on troubleshooting of equipment with technicians
  • Ensure operations comply with Federal, State, local and corporate requirements
  • Fulfill data handling and reporting requirements
  • Control data management and records such as:

Operating parameters – dust collectors, dry scrubbers

Bag performance

Bag test data

Air quality data reports

  • Assist in maintaining relative documentation needs for the department
  • Lead department in safety activities
  • Provide training and PPE for direct reports and contractors
  • Gather and maintain data to assist in preparing MACT and Title V compliance reports
  • Maintain adequate bag supply inventory taking quality and cost into account
  • Support plant waste management if needed
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to meet business objectives.

Qualifications

  • 3 – 5 years environmental experience
  • Supervisory and mechanical experience preferred
  • Understanding of aluminum processes and equipment is a plus
  • Knowledge of design and operation industrial ventilation systems and emission control
  • Computer literate and able to communicate
  • Knowledge of fabric quality testing, program logic control (PLC) and problem solving
  • Ability to plan and manage data requirement

Physical Demands

  • This is an on-site position – remote work is not available.
  • Must successfully pass a rigorous medical examination.
  • Medically certified for respirator use
  • Must have no limitations to walking, standing, climbing and balance, stoop or kneel.
  • Ability to climb to extensive heights and enter confined spaces
  • Able to lift 10 to 25 pounds.
  • Able to withstand extreme weather conditions – heat, cold, rain.
  • Must be able to speak clearly and utilize a computer keyboard.

  • Participating in continuous safety and environmental improvements
  • Participate in housekeeping activities
  • Service equipment and reports defect as needed
  • Follow guidance from ISO coordinators regarding compliance with ISO registrations
