Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physiatrist to join our team at our American College of Surgeons verified Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center. The ideal candidate will primarily focus on inpatient consults, providing expert care to patients with a wide range of physical and neurological conditions. There may also be opportunities for outpatient follow-up care.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Conduct inpatient consultations for patients with physical and neurological impairments, including those recovering from trauma and stroke. 
  • Develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation plans tailored to individual patient needs. 
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including neurologists, orthopedic surgeons, trauma surgeons, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals. 
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. 
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding rehabilitation processes and goals. 
  • Liaison with rehabilitation centers to ensure smooth transitions of care. 
  • Participate in rotating schedules to ensure coverage 7 days a week. 
  • Potentially provide outpatient follow-up care to ensure continuity of care.
