VHC Health is seeking a PRN MD or DO Physiatrist to provide weekend inpatient coverage for a 20-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit within the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) service line. This role is focused on delivering comprehensive medical care to rehabilitation patients, including rounding, admissions, discharges, and consultative services.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-person medical coverage for patients on the 20-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit.
- Perform weekend rounding on both Saturday and Sunday.
- Conduct history and physical examinations for new admissions.
- Complete discharge evaluations and documentation.
- Perform inpatient rehabilitation consults as needed.
- Review and assess outside referrals for potential admission via the electronic medical record.
- Manage acute and chronic medical conditions during the rehabilitation stay.
- Ensure timely, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
Schedule
- PRN weekend role
- In-person coverage required both Saturday and Sunday when scheduled
- Potential holiday coverage if scheduled
- Expected availability: approximately one weekend per month
Minimum Requirements
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R)
- Active, unrestricted medical license (or ability to obtain)
- Demonstrated clinical experience beyond residency training
- Prior experience in an inpatient rehabilitation setting
- Ability to independently manage inpatient rehabilitation patients

OB Hospitalist/OB ED Physician Job Responsibilities:
• Physicians in this role function as OB Laborists and cover the Obstetric Emergency Department
• Labor and delivery care on our 33 bed Labor and Delivery Unit
• Work directly with Inova's employed OB/GYN physicians to manage their patients
• Certified Nurse Midwife supervision
• Emergency obstetric care in a 13 bed Triage/OBED which accepts patients at any gestational age and up to six weeks postpartum with obstetric complaints
• Inpatient practice
Minimum Qualifications:
• Education: Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution. Board eligible or board certified in OB/GYN.
• Experience: successful completion of Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program.
• Licensure: Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia
• Payor Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and Ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor
