Position Description

The QA Technician – Manufacturing Logistics provides quality support to third-party logistics and warehousing operations. This role supports warehouse activities including goods receipt, sampling, incoming inspections, and outbound shipping processes to ensure compliance with cGMP requirements.

The QA Technician works closely with warehouse operations, quality, and external partners to maintain quality systems, support investigations, and ensure materials are handled, documented, and released appropriately. This role requires hands-on warehouse support, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Key Objectives / Deliverables

• Perform material sampling activities in accordance with approved GMP sampling plans.
• Ensure all warehouse activities remain compliant with SOPs, cGMP, and quality requirements.
• Execute incoming inspections of materials and components (e.g., components, printed packaging materials).
• Evaluate damaged materials identified during inbound shipments or warehouse handling and determine acceptability.
• Identify, investigate, and assist in resolving shipping and receiving issues (e.g., incorrect quantity, incorrect product, contamination).
• Author and submit supplier complaints and internal quality issues as required.
• Support deviation investigations, including aberrant data investigations.
• Provide quality guidance and recommendations related to materials, utilities, and warehouse processes.
• Review temperature monitoring data and reports; escalate abnormalities as appropriate.
• Perform quality-related transactions within inventory management systems to ensure accurate material status (e.g., released, blocked, quarantined).
• Support recalls, rejections, and returns, as required.
• Conduct gap assessments against global quality requirements and support implementation of governing standards.
• Participate in self-inspection activities and support regulatory inspections and audits.
• Maintain, execute, and review GMP documentation generated during logistics and warehouse operations.
• Manage and maintain the GMP document library.
• Work closely with site stakeholders and external partners to resolve issues and drive continuous process improvement.
• Follow safety procedures, including appropriate PPE use and proper lifting techniques.

Basic Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work overtime and off-hours as required.
• Ability to work in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to wear required PPE while performing job duties.

Position schedule:

o Salisbury: 2 shifts, Mon-Fri 8-hour, and Fri-Mon 10-hour.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency with computer systems and standard office applications.
• Knowledge of cGMPs and quality systems.
• Prior experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Manufacturing, Engineering, Technical Services, or Regulatory Affairs.
• Experience using inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, EWM) and laboratory or quality systems (e.g., LIMS).
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

About the Role

As a Maintenance Technician for Innospec Performance Chemicals, you will be responsible for installation, maintenance and improvement of process equipment using advanced machine repair and metal fabrication skills. You must be highly quality-conscious, aggressively self-directed, a motivated team player, and willing and eager to gain and share new knowledge. Using technical drawings and schematics, troubleshoot and repair complex process and facilities equipment.

Responsibilities

• Use machine tools, welding equipment, and measuring devices to fabricate machine parts, various mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, electrical equipment, and lawn equipment.
• Perform various equipment preventive maintenance tasks (i.e., cleaning, inspection, and lubrication) as necessary, but routinely in cases requiring advanced technical expertise and knowledge of safety procedures (e.g., electrical cabinets, machine interiors, etc.).
• Thoroughly document maintenance activity using the maintenance database, adequately communicate maintenance issues to appropriate employees (e.g., other maintenance techs, operators, engineers, supervisors, etc.), and properly utilize the maintenance inventory system.
• Champion process improvement in assigned areas by analyzing equipment maintenance history, identifying significant causes of waste, coordinating with appropriate employees to develop root-cause solutions, and providing maintenance assistance as necessary.
• Provide Preventative Maintenance support for plant and equipment.
• Repair and maintain items necessary to maintain process equipment in "Grade A" condition.
• Assist in day-to-day support of operators, adjustments, setups, and change overs.
• Assist other maintenance technicians as required.
• Participate on improvement teams and coordinate with engineers and vendors on special projects.
• Shift work may be required at times.
• 'On-call' rotation is required, typically one week every 4 to 6 weeks, due to manufacturing equipment in continual 24-hour operation.
• Follow all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by Innospec and the department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years' maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a chemical facility.
• Must obtain lockout certification and be able to wear OSHA approved safety gear.
• Advanced mechanical OR electrical skills (PLC troubleshooting skills preferred).

Duties and Responsibilities

• Partner with the Digital Media Manager to create end-user documentation for Microsoft Teams Rooms and other Audio/Video systems deployed .

• User-friendly documentation for non-technical audiences
• Formal technical design and architecture documentation for departmental reference
