Estimator / Project Manager

Location: Southaven, MS | On-site

We are seeking a confident and results-driven Estimator / Project Manager to oversee the full preconstruction lifecycle of projects in a hands-on, fast-paced environment. This role works closely with leadership to deliver accurate estimates, proposals, and contracts on time, requiring someone who can communicate clearly, take ownership, and make decisions confidently from day one.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full estimating and preconstruction lifecycle
• Define project scopes and contract requirements
• Analyze plans, specifications, and project documentation to develop accurate cost estimates
• Perform line-item estimating and detailed cost breakdowns
• Research, source, negotiate, and secure pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
• Develop proposals and bid packages for bonded and government-funded projects
• Evaluate financial, technical, and operational risks
• Assess cost-impacting factors such as labor productivity and material availability
• Participate in go/no-go bid decisions
• Visit project sites as needed to gather field information
• Stay current on construction methods, technology, and regulatory requirements
• Maintain detailed records and prepare reports
• Collaborate closely with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders
• Foster strong, long-term relationships with clients

Day to Day:

• Lead technical efforts supporting the launch of a new electric Power Take-Off (ePTO) product.
• Develop a deep understanding of the overall ePTO system, including electrical, mechanical, and control components, and how they interact.
• Program, configure, and validate the ePTO controller to ensure proper system performance across applications.
• Analyze and manage system dynamics between product subsystems to optimize functionality, efficiency, and reliability.
• Support integration of the ePTO system with customer vehicles, ensuring compatibility with vehicle architectures and operating requirements.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to understand application needs, particularly within the industrial work truck market.
• Assist with troubleshooting, validation, and refinement of system performance during development, testing, and early production phases.
• Provide technical support and documentation related to system configuration, integration, and operation.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE

This positionis responsibleforleading and managing the engineering team responsible for developing, improving, andoptimizingmanufacturing processes to achieve operational excellence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create, test, document and approveECN's(engineering change notice)as needed to effectively address warranty issues, manufacturing requests and/orpurchasingrequests.

• Serve asa technicalliaison between Horn Lake manufacturing team and Milwaukee based product engineering teams with respect to new product development to ensure manufacturabilityof products. Specific responsibilities will include assisting with BOM's(bill of materials)as needed,developlabortimes, standardoperatingproceduresand written work instructions.

• Interface askey technical contact with RHPC engineering in Milwaukee.

• Meet established welding and assembly design criteria by ensuring compliance with work procedures and instructions.

• Analyzes andplansspace requirements, workflow and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.

• Ensure that all required tooling is in place andmeetsengineering designcriteria.

• Responsible for the facility management of the Horn Lake facility on aday-to-daybasis.This includes theloadingdock equipment,forklifts, production equipment,machines,and operation of the mechanical equipment from plumbing to electrical.This position alsois responsible for theday-to-dayquality audits and feedback to the production team on a daily/weekly basis.

• Ensure compliance withthe engineeringbudget that is in place on an annual basis.

• Review/ order engineered product to ensure product structures and BOM's are correct.Work with Applications and Engineering to build labor and quality standards asrequired. He/she willassistandrecommend inthe automation of equipment and processes toassistin the ergonomic and productivity of manufacturing RHPC products.

• In conjunction with manufacturing andpurchasing, complete Value Analysis projects to reduce current costs through redesign and/or use of alternate components.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S to enhance efficiency, reducewasteand improve product quality.

• Manage capital projects, including equipmentselection, layout planning, and justification for investment.

• Analyze production metrics and root cause issues to improve, reduce downtime, and enhance process liability.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Mechanical,Industrial, or ManufacturingEngineeringor related fieldas well as five+years related experience including supervisory responsibility (or project management responsibilities) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Must have working knowledge of Solid works and AutoCAD(or equivalent software).Thorough knowledge of BOM structures and itemmastersasrequiredfor manufacturing and engineering support.

• In addition, knowledge of JD Edwardsrequiredas needed for engineering purposes.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Professional certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or PMP.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process Aftermarket orders to meet production shipping needs.

• Re-stock incoming parts and process material transfers.

• Assist in the maintenance of parts inventory control.

• Maintain all shipping materials (i.e. cardboard, tape, etc.)

• Maintain high quality of parts shipped by performing a visual quality assurance check.

• Maintenance of high-quality parts shipments.

• Timely processing and shipment of Aftermarket orders.

• Maintenance of sufficient shipping materials.

• Identify and select merchandise from stock and prepare items for shipment.

• Must read and understand pick slips to ensure accurate maintenance of parts inventory.

• Inspect products for correct size, quantity, and color before shipping.

• Determine size, box type, and format for shipping to prevent damage to product.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Must have basic computer skills experience.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Forklift license is required.
