Performs the nursing process in a safe therapeutic manner in a designated clinic setting. Provides direct patient care (dialysis) and monitoring of renal dialysis patients. Oversees direct patient care of the ESRD patient on dialysis. Supports and adheres to University Health and department specific policies and standards. Mentors and serves as a clinical role model for all staff. Receives mentoring from Nurse Staff III and the Director of Dialysis Services.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
BSN is highly preferred. Must meet career ladder Staff Nurse II criteria for worked area. Two years or more of nursing experience required. Must have current American Heart Association, Basic Cardiac Life Support and Healthcare Provider card.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

LICENSURE
Must possess a current license to practice Vocational Nursing in the State of Texas. Must have a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or AHA BLS Instructor Provider card.

Serves as a member of the mental health care team that provides specialized health care for selected groups of patients in the Adult Detention Center. Participates as a part of a multidisciplinary team that includes medical and mental health. Actively supports and adheres to the University Health policies and procedures. Ensures efficient, appropriate and adequate mental health care is administered to incarcerated individuals in the Bexar County Adult Detention Center. EDUCATION
A Registered Professional Nurse who is prepared for advanced nursing practice by virtue of knowledge and skills obtained through an accredited post basic or advanced educational program of study acceptable to the Board of Nurse Examiners. A Master’s degree in nursing is preferred. Three years of nursing experience is required and two years of advanced practice is preferred. Certification by a national nursing body is recommended.
LICENSURE
Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Texas and credentialed by the State to practice as a Nurse Practitioner. Prescriptive authority is required.

Must have completed training in an ACGME approved and accredited residency program. Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse Manager (Patient Care Coordinator-PCC) will be responsible for performing expert leadership skills in management of staff and coordination of patient care activities. The professional RN will work collaboratively with all healthcare providers and non-health care providers. Will serve as a mentor and role model for all staff and will receive mentoring for the Nursing Director.
