In this role, the individual will be part of the Software Test team conducting software/hardware integration testing and formal qualification test (FQT) of Aerial Refueling and Mission System Software with a focus on leadership, quality, process improvement, tool improvement and test automation.

We are seeking an individual that is passionate about aerospace and excited to work in a multi-disciplined, collaborative engineering environment that supports the design, development, and implementation of software for existing and emerging government and international programs.

The Boeing KC-46 "Pegasus" is the new US Air Force aerial refueling tanker aircraft designed to support multi-role missions including refueling, cargo/passenger transport, and medevac airlift. The KC-46 is a military commercial derivative aircraft based on the Boeing 767-2C aircraft and modified per US Air Force specifications for the primary mission of aerial refueling US and Allied aircraft. The KC-46 is equipped with self-protection, defensive and communication systems making it more survivable in a contested environment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports the design, development, and completion of test and verification of software products to ensure quality, reliability, and functionality.
  • Participates in partnering with stakeholders to review and identify software requirements, test objectives, test strategies, and testability.
  • Supports designing test plans, cases, and scenarios to meet software requirements and specifications.
  • Contributes to the set up and configuration of test environments, including hardware, software, and network configurations to replicate production environments.
  • Supports executing test cases and scenarios to verify functionality, performance, and safety of software systems, identifying and reporting defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilities found during testing processes.
  • Contributes to providing test results and feedback on software design and functionality to resolve defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilities.
  • Supports creating, documenting, and maintaining test plans, procedures, cases, artifacts, metrics, and data in accordance with data privacy and security protocols and standards.
  • Supports developing and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks to improve efficiency and effectiveness of testing processes.
  • Contributes to software project management functions across test and verification activities involving multifunctional teams.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering discipline or 4+ years equivalent related experience
  • 2 or more years of experience designing and developing software test plans, test cases, and test procedures
  • 2 or more years of experience executing software test procedures/cases
  • Ability to obtain Final Post Start Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in software development using languages such as C, C++, Java, or Ada
  • Experience using team collaboration tools including GitLab, Bitbucket, JIRA, and Confluence
  • Experience in software development processes in compliance with established internal and industry standards, guidelines, and best practices in the development, testing, and deployment of software
  • Knowledge of verification, validation, certification and qualification processes and procedures, including knowledge of governing regulations and compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of appropriate customer or governmental regulations relevant to design, test, and certification (e.g., DO-178B/C)
  • Knowledge of how to derive and allocate requirements (e.g., system, sub-system, software) and show traceability throughout the product lifecycle
  • Knowledge of the full software development life cycle (requirements, design, code, test and certification)

The 777-8F Airplane Level Integration Team (ALIT) organization has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineering and Integration Manager (Level K) to join our team in Everett, Washington.

Position Overview:

In this role, you will lead activities critical to the success of the 777-8F derivative within the 777X family, such as functional integration, requirements integration, and/or development assurance oversight. This role will lead teams that own critical program-level deliverables and processes within systems engineering, provide systems engineering expertise and guidance to program Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and develop artifacts necessary for aircraft certification. You will have the opportunity to interface with program internal and external organizations such as Engineering Integrated Product Teams, Systems Engineering core, and global partners.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, demonstrates curiosity and a learning mindset, has previous experience in Systems Engineering, and has proven ability to lead cross functional teams through complex technical issues.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the management and execution of systems engineering activities across the 777-8F program

  • Lead the development of systems engineering artifacts such as airplane and system-level functional decomposition, functional analysis reports, requirements validation & verification, and program plans and guidance materials

  • Drive accountability for completion of systems engineering activities

  • Integrate amongst program teams to resolve technical risks and issues  

  • Manage, develop, and motivate employees

  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, peers, partners, and team members

  • Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures and set operational goals

  • Provide oversight, guidance, and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 7+ years of engineering experience in the aerospace or similar industry

  • 5+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and/or informal leadership role

  • 5+ years in Systems Engineering or Design Engineering (e.g. Systems, Flight Sciences, Interiors, Propulsion, Safety)

  • Fundamental understanding of systems engineering principles (e.g. requirements, development assurance, and/or functional integration)

  • Ability to effectively navigate and lead a team through dynamic and ambiguous environments

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of engineering management experience

  • 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues

  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly across different audiences and varying levels of the organization

  • Experience with leading technical cross functional teams, working across organizational boundaries, and ensuring an inclusive environment

Boeing BGS is currently looking for a Retrofit Technical Specialist (Retrofit & Repair) Level 3 candidate for our P-8 Retrofit Engineering Team, whose mission is to provide modification, retrofit, and support for the P-8 aircraft. Our vision is to provide world class, high quality, and timely Retrofit Planning, Time Compliance Technical Order and Retrofit Installation Instruction Authoring, Retrofit Project Management, Validation and Verification, Retrofit Kit Management and Installation Support. The Boeing Company's P-8 Retrofit Team requires a retrofit and repair technical specialist to assist with the authoring of Technical Directives (TDs) and Installation Data Packages (IDPs) for the installation of new modifications on the in-service aircraft, as well as mod-site support for the P-8 programs.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Tukwila, WA facility.

Position Overview:

Leads definition and development of retrofit technical documents detailing retrofit modifications and installations. Develops estimates and analyses for complex modifications involving multiple impacted systems or platform configurations. Collaborates with internal functions to resolve issues such as parts and material obsolescence. Leads retrofit kit first article quality validation/verification activities. Manages kit delivery schedule, plans performance and initiates remedial action. Provides on-site support of complex retrofit installations related to maintenance, modifications, and repairs based on established customer, regulatory, and company requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge to research delivered and previously modified product configuration (e.g., aircraft, spacecraft, support/test equipment) and ability to develop all material requirements.
  • Knowledge of location and use of resource data (e.g., company and vendor design resources, standard parts, process and specifications
  • Research and analyze engineering data to develop and evaluate retrofit/repair product configurations.
  • Develops and defines customer retrofit/repair requirements.
  • Creates/authors retrofit technical documents and retrofit installation data packages.
  • Writes technical documents with clear, concise technical prose
  • Identifies and defines requirements for retrofit kit definition, development and delivery.
  • Reviews engineering data packages to determine configuration requirements. Identifies required parts, materials and consumables.
  • Provides technical resolution for retrofit and modification related problems.
  • Validates engineering bill of materials and analyzes gaps.
  • Defines configuration requirements and creates an installable modification package.
  • Supports internal and external customers.
  • Develop estimates and analyses for retrofit projects.
  • Analyzes and resolves modification procedures and parts/material issues.
  • Supports certification and verification/validation efforts as needed.
  • Support of MOD lines

This position requires the ability to obtain an active U.S. Security Clearance. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of reading and understanding engineering blueprints/drawings.
  • 3+ years' experience with Microsoft Office Products like Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • 1 to 2 years' experience with analyzing and interpreting engineering data for inclusion into maintenance manuals and technical publications
  • Candidate must have 1 to 2 years of P-8 aircraft experience.
  • Knowledge of researching design resources, standard parts, process specs to research previously modified product configurations.
  • Knowledge of retrofit kitting process
  • Ability to write clear, concise technical prose, as well as apply technical knowledge and knowledge of fundamental writing skills for a variety of technical publications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years' experience working on military or commercial aircraft
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, aviation, aerospace.
  • Experience with the P-8 aircraft maintenance
  • Experience working with drawings that define the engineering, special engineering, special tooling, retrofit kit packaging, independent work packages and material requirements for accomplishment of inspections, modifications, improvement changes, and repairs of delivered products.
  • Experience authoring Technical Directives and/or Installation Data Packages.
  • Experience in Retrofit Modifications.
  • Experience working in BIRKS, REDARs, PSDS, RCS.

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Requirements Systems Engineer (Associate or Experienced) to support our KC-46 Aerial Refueling and Mission System Software team located in Tukwila, WA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Services (BDS) business organization.

The KC-46 is a military commercial derivative aircraft based on the Boeing 767-2C aircraft and modified per US Air Force specifications for the primary mission of aerial refueling US and Allied aircraft. The KC-46 is equipped with self-protection, defensive and communication systems making it more survivable in a contested environment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, analyze, and maintain software systems that meet industry, customer, and internal quality, safety, security and certification standards.
  • Partner with appropriate stakeholders to inform system definition and decompose system-level requirements into software requirements and models that meet customer, operational needs, performance requirements and have clear traceability to design, code and test artifacts.
