Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of professional direct health care clinical duties within the field of Soldier Medicine.
• Assesses, plans, evaluates, and modifies the plan of acute and chronically ill patients.
• Performs a variety of duties that involve isolating and defining unknown medical conditions.
• Collects a detailed and comprehensive medical history from the patient to perform clinical evaluations and provide recommendations designed to avert complications by preventing the emergence of diseases or modifying their trajectory.
• Examines adult patients and performs initial patient work-up and assessment of patients' care and treatment.
• Writes prescriptions, orders the administration of medications, dispenses medication and prescribes controlled substances in accordance with scope of practice for Physician Assistants.

Experience

• Previous experience in Primary Care and Military medicine is preferred.
• Proficiency in data management (MHS Genesis) systems related to patient care is beneficial.
• Strong skills in patient assessment and care delivery are essential.
• Basic life support certification is required; advanced certifications are a plus.
