Partnering in a dyad with the System Senior Physician Executive for Tertiary Care, this role works within a cross-functional team to assess performance, identify improvement opportunities, and drive initiatives aligned with Aspirus Medical Group’s strategic priorities. The VP oversees regional directors and clinic leaders, translates executive-level decisions into coordinated operational action, and maintains accountability for budgets, resource allocation, and service delivery across all assigned divisions. The VP reports to the SVP, Ambulatory Services and President, Aspirus Medical Group.

This executive leads the development and implementation of policies, long-range plans, and clinical transformation efforts that support organizational goals and evolving community needs. The role is responsible for building strong relationships with physicians, administrative leaders, and key stakeholders across the Aspirus system, including cardiology and cardiovascular service partners. Key expectations include advancing patient experience and safety, strengthening workforce and practice environments, coordinating recruitment and retention of clinical staff, and representing the service line in interactions with health organizations, government agencies, and third-party partners. Operating in a matrixed environment, the VP relies on influence, collaboration, and strategic execution to build an integrated, high-performing tertiary care service line.

The Director of Facilities Planning & Construction Management is accountable for the effective design of all of the facilities and grounds within Aspirus. This is accomplished through project and facilities staff reporting through managers/supervisors to the Director. The role includes the buildings and grounds of Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Aspirus Clinics, Aspirus Buildings, Inc. facilities and partnership facilities Aspirus may be involved in.

Experience/Qualifications:

• Knowledge of patient care standards and management practices in a healthcare environment normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field required.
• Minimum of five years’ progressively responsible experience in a related field required.
• Healthcare Construction Management is vitally important
• Professional certification in healthcare facilities management desired.

Under the direction of the Vice President – System Patient Service Center, the Director of Access & Referrals and Nurse Contact Center provides leadership, coordination, and operational oversight for Scheduling & Referrals and the Nurse Contact Center. This position leads the integration and unification of the call centers across WI/MI/MN under ambulatory Leaderhship and supports Aspirus’ strategic plans including overall patient service center growth and development.

The Director is responsible for ensuring operational excellence through standardized workflows, efficient staffing, and achievement of enterprise KPIs for access, quality, and patient experience. The Director partners closely with the Shared Support teams (Quality Assurance, Workforce Management, and Training & Development) to ensure data-driven performance management and continuous improvement.

Experience/Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health-related field or business administration required.
• Master's degree in health or business preferred.
• Ten years’ experience in health administration, including at least five years in direct ambulatory clinic administration/operations, is strongly preferred. Previous experience in health system scheduling practice.
• Strong operational leadership, team development, and project management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and change management abilities.
• Proficient in Epic EMR, contact center telephony platforms, Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiarity with patience access, scheduling, referrals, triage, and revenue cycle dependencies.
• Ability to lead through influence across functions and regions.
• Annual competencies as required by Aspirus and/or various regulatory agencies based on entity and/or job position.
