This leadership position will be responsible for the day to day operations of our Integrated Outpatient Adult Services which includes: Adult PHP, Adult IOP, ACT, OnTrack, TMS and general outpatient psychiatric services. This large multi-disciplinary service cares for over 5,000 patients per year. Oversight includes: the recruitment, training, supervision and evaluation of all staff. A strong academic interest in teaching and supervising psychiatric residents is essential.

NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens is a member of the New York City Health + Hospitals public hospital system and is located in one of the most ethnically diverse communities in New York. The Department of Pediatrics is made up of a busy Ambulatory Pediatric Service with many innovative primary care programs – including integrated behavioral health, integrated preventive dentistry, a Pediatric Healthy Lifestyles Program, Healthy Steps, Reach Out & Read, Centering and the Video Interaction Project; a Center for Child Development; a Level III NICU and a Mother-Baby Unit with >1300 deliveries a year. The hospital has been designated Baby Friendly since the Spring of 2014.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, quality improvement activities, collaborating with the Chief of Adolescent Medicine to build patient-centered services around healthy lifestyles and young adult pre-conception health, reproductive health and behavioral health – as well as with the greater team on providing comprehensive pediatric primary care services that promote health and wellness over the life course. We provide long acting reversible contraception as part of our adolescent services. There are a wide variety of opportunities for program development and academic advancement as well as teaching of students and adult primary care residents. NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens participates in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program as a designated Health Manpower Shortage Area for Primary Care. The hospital is accessible by public transportation and car from all areas of New York City, New Jersey and Long Island.

About the Role:

This role blends clinical and administrative responsibilities (approximately 80/20 split) and includes:

• Inpatient consultative services at Glen Cove Hospital as well as ambulatory practice.
• Physician recruitment, mentorship, and supervision.

Candidate Qualifications:

• D. Degree from an accredited institution (ACGME or foreign program that is similarly appropriately accredited)
• Board certification in Neurology.
• Those who have completed fellowship training and board certification in neuromuscular disorders are encouraged to apply.

The Mount Sinai Department of Neurology is seeking enthusiastic applicants for a fulfilling inpatient neurology opportunity. 

This full-time position consists of inpatient consultative general neurology work at Mount Sinai Queens, part of the New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System. You will provide high quality care for patients with a broad range of basic and complex neurological diseases and neurological manifestations of systemic illness. Acute stroke and neurovascular diseases are not included in this role, as these are separately managed by our world-class Stroke Team. You will frequently collaborate with our superb neurological subspecialists (particularly in epilepsy and stroke). Finally, Mount Sinai Queens is a teaching site for the medical student core Neurology Clerkship, which is overseen by the on-service Neurology attending. Schedule opportunities include a combination of inpatient weeks, inpatient weekends, and outpatient time, depending on the applicant’s preferences. Over time, coverage needs may change or be flexible.

The Department consists of over 40 full-time and voluntary board-certified physicians providing care to the diverse community. As a member of the of the MSHS and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, we are able to offer the professional benefits of a major academic/research medical center. With over 2400 deliveries per year, the Department supports 16 residents in a four-year residency program and an active teaching program for third-year medical students. All OB/GYN sub-specialties are represented in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Position Description:

1. Teach medical students and residents by lecture, rounds, and clinical activity in the office and operating room

2. Provide Urogynocology care, including ambulatory care and surgery in the hospital

3. General administration duties that include documenting and reviewing patient chart
