Overview

We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support both ground-up & rehab and multi-family residential & commercial projects across the Bay Area and Butte County regions. This role offers the opportunity to work with an established general contractor focused on delivering high-quality, community-driven developments including affordable housing and hotel facilities.

The Project Engineer will play a key role in coordinating project documentation, supporting field and office teams, and ensuring projects progress smoothly from preconstruction through closeout. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to professional growth within the construction industry.

Must Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience supporting construction projects for a general contractor
  • Proven experience working on multi-family residential or similar vertical construction projects
  • Strong understanding of construction documents, specifications, and submittal processes
  • Proficiency with project management software platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to effectively coordinate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and design teams

Our client, a growing power engineering and infrastructure firm, is seeking a Substation Engineering Manager to lead and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams through the full lifecycle of substation design projects. This role is responsible for resource and performance management, technical execution, and fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Engineers, Designers, and Drafters responsible for the technical execution of substation engineering design projects
  • Effective management of resource planning, performance management, and professional development for all staff
  • Lead by example to create and foster a culture in alignment with company values, that embraces technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Contribute to the development, review, and approval of proposal packages, work scope definitions, cost estimates, engineering schedules, and technical documentation for substation projects

  • Conduct periodic audits of the group’s adherence to project processes to ensure compliance with quality expectations

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of substation engineering design experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred, ABET-accredited)
  • Proven experience managing and mentoring engineering teams
  • Strong client-facing and business development experience (proposals, scope, estimates)
  • Experience supporting EPC, field services, or construction/commissioning projects
