We are seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I to support the Naval Health Research Center (NHRC), Operational Infectious Diseases (OID) Directorate by coordinating and managing clinical research studies.
The OID Directorate conducts ongoing, laboratory-based surveillance of US military populations in unique environments to quantify and study the etiology of infectious illnesses. Test specimens are collected from ongoing surveillance programs and from special investigations of febrile illnesses and pneumonia among military personnel or civilians (recruits, forces afloat, deployed forces, outbreaks of concern, and border populations). In addition to the utilization of portable, rapid assay technologies to identify pathogens in the field, test specimens and limited epidemiologic data, when approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB), are provided to the NHRC laboratory where diagnostics and, in some instances, in-depth pathogen characterization is conducted. Results are provided to sponsors, the Armed Forces Health Surveillance Center, local investigators and collaborators, and, when applicable, county health units to guide proper responses that ultimately affect both the readiness of US forces and the safety of public health.

Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Patient Recruitment and Consent: Identifies, recruits, and obtains informed consent from potential study participants in compliance with study protocols and ethical guidelines.
- Help lead recruitment efforts, developing and refining strategies to meet enrollment targets.
- Make independent decisions about how to target and select participants, and whether a potential participant meets eligibility criteria.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Strategy & Portfolio Leadership

- Own and manage department-level KPIs with guidance, including sales, margin, and inventory metrics.
- Partner with Merchandising Planning and Demand Planning on forecasts, OTB support, and reflow actions.
- Track weekly performance and recommend actions on opportunities and risks.
- Ensure promotional and pricing execution aligns with strategy and financial goals.
- Maintain strong command of item-level and department-level performance details.
Vendor Partnership & Negotiation
- Support vendor relationships and communication for owned department and assigned categories.
- Participate in vendor meetings, line reviews, and negotiations.
- Negotiate costs, programs, and funding opportunities with guidance.
- Help build long-term, performance-based vendor partnerships.
- Partner with Owned Brands, Sourcing, Product Development, and QA as applicable.
Omnichannel Execution (Product, Price, Promotion, Placement)
- Support product and assortment execution across stores and digital channels.
- Partner with Digital, Store Operations, and Marketing on launches and product stories.
- Collaborate with Space and Visual Planning on assortment placement and flow.
- Ensure item setup, product data, and execution details are accurate and on time.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Work closely with Merchandising Planning, Demand Planning, Space & Visual Planning, Owned Brands, Product Development, Store Operations, Digital, Marketing, Sourcing, and QA.
- Coordinate timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional inputs to support on-time launches.
- Represent department needs and priorities in cross-functional forums when needed.
Retail Fundamentals & Operational Excellence
- Execute core retail fundamentals with excellence and precision.
- Maintain strong item-level accuracy across cost, retails, specs, attributes, and timelines.
- Ensure systems, samples, and assortments are managed accurately and efficiently.

LEGAL OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW
This is a compelling opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented attorney with 2 to 7 years of experience to join a sophisticated construction and business litigation practice in a fully remote capacity. Attorneys in this group handle complex, high-value matters and work closely with experienced partners, clients, and insurance carriers across a wide range of industries and jurisdictions.
Despite the remote structure, attorneys are fully integrated into case teams and entrusted with meaningful responsibility across all phases of litigation.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Represent clients in complex construction and business litigation matters
- Handle disputes involving design professionals, contractors, manufacturers, developers, and property owners
- Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and discovery responses
- Participate in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, trials, and appellate matters
- Provide strategic counsel to clients and insurers throughout the lifecycle of construction projects, including claims guidance during active design and construction
- Work on matters involving large-scale infrastructure, public works, and commercial developments such as transportation projects, healthcare facilities, hospitality properties, utilities, and residential developments
- Collaborate remotely with partners and litigation teams while maintaining a high level of responsiveness and professionalism
WHAT YOU BRING
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 2 to 7 years of experience in construction law, complex litigation, or business litigation
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
- Prior experience working with insurance carriers or insured clients is strongly preferred
- Ability to manage matters independently in a remote environment while contributing effectively to a team-based practice
COMPENSATION AND REMOTE STRUCTURE
- Base Salary Range: $130,000 to $190,000, depending on experience and overall fit
