POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES Supports the Director, Infection Control, in providing a robust, comprehensive health system wide infection control program in accordance with current standards of practice and in compliance with regulatory agencies and governmental policies and procedures.
The principle goals of the infection control program include protecting patients, healthcare workers, volunteers, students, visitors, and others in the healthcare environment; and accomplishing the goals in a cost-effective manner EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Minimum of five years of infection prevention experience within a hospital setting required with a Baccalaureate degree in nursing or higher required.
Three years of recent infection prevention experience in an acute care hospital setting is required.
Preferred: post-graduate courses in epidemiology, infection prevention or disease control, completion of CDC or APIC sponsored infection prevention training is desirable.
Supervisory and managerial experience is desirable.
Working knowledge of statistics and epidemiological principles is required.

Summary:
The Clinical Educator II plays a vital role in advancing clinical excellence through the design, delivery, and evaluation of clinical education and competency development. This role leads and supports onboarding, orientation, and ongoing professional development for clinical staff across diverse specialties. The educator applies adult learning principles, evidence-based practices, and innovative modalities - including simulation, eLearning, and microlearning - to foster a culture of continuous learning and clinical proficiency. The Clinical Educator II collaborates with clinical teams to ensure education initiatives meet regulatory standards, support safe patient care, and align with organizational goals. Serves as a subject matter expert and mentor to Clinical Educator I and other staff. Participates in and supports the strategic planning and quality improvement efforts of the education team.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Experience in correctional health care, psychiatric nursing, or nursing in an emergency environment is preferred. Prior knowledge or experience within the University Health System’s nursing services and/or certification as a Certified Correctional Health Care Provider (CCHP) is also preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties and tasks may be assigned.

- Report any significant information or change in patient condition to the Charge Nurse.
- Report machine problems to Biomedical Technician and Administrator.
- Participate in staff meetings as required. Attend in-service and continuing education offerings in compliance with company policy and procedure.
- Assist with staff training as requested.

Requirements include:
- Current LVN/LPN license in applicable state. License must be maintained as current and in good standing.
- CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.
