Summary:

Assumes primary responsibility and 24/7 accountability for effective implementation of nursing practice and operations for assigned areas;
at CHRISTUS St. PatrickHospital. The nurse manager affects departmental outcomes through interpretation, implementation, and evaluation of hospital and departmental philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures. Facilitates intra and interdepartmental communication and collaboration to promote excellence in patient care, patient experience and patient outcomes. Effectively manages utilization of staff and material resources so that the most therapeutically effective patient care is provided in a safe and cost effective manner. Promotes the professional development of patient care and administrative support staff assigned for areas.

Responsibilities:

• Participates in the establishment and implementation of yearly goals for the units.
• Monitors operations of the unit. Measures progress towards goals, identifying problems and taking corrective actions.
• Serves as an advocate for patients/families, assuring that patient/family rights are respected, patient satisfaction issues are addressed, and associates adhere to the core values of the corporation.
• Directs patient care in compliance with regulatory standards such as Joint Commission and state licensure requirements.
• Participates in the development, communication, and implementation of nursing and organizational policy and procedure.
• Participates on intra and interdepartmental committees and task forces which are focused on improving patient care.

• Collaborates effectively with physicians, administrators, patients, families, other departments, and the community to provide quality patient care and enhance patient outcomes.
• Maintains core staffing within established guidelines that assure patient safety and considers skill mix and experience of staff.
• Oversees daily staffing of the unit and collaborates with Lead Associates on the development and revision of the staffing schedule.
• Ensures assessment of competency of all associates as a part of the orientation program and on an ongoing basis.
• Identifies, plans, develops and/or arranges for programs to meet the educational/skills needs of the associates upon hiring and on an ongoing basis.
• Identifies, plans, develops methods to meet the educational needs of the patient population.
• On an annual basis, contributes to the development of operating and capital budgets to meet the needs of the unit.
• Assures effective and appropriate utilization of material and human resources,
• Reviews financial and productivity management reports and takes appropriate actions.
• Demonstrates competence to perform assigned patient care responsibilities in a manner that meets the age specific and developmental needs of patients served by the department.

Summary:

The Emergency Department Technician requires the skills and knowledge of many areas such as: ED Tech, Patient Registrar, Unit Clerk, and Monitor Tech. The Emergency Department Tech performs a variety of RN delegated tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse. He/she assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with training, competence and skill. He/she is knowledgeable of and follows all hospital policies and procedures. Consistently assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, adequately stocked and safe patient environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assists with admission, transfer, and discharges of patients.

Document in the computer system all necessary demographic, insurance, and financial information. Compile or retrieve scheduled reports from computer system.

Performs all relevant duties of a Neurodiagnostic Technologist II or higher. Assists the Director in providing quality services in an efficient manner by providing appropriate staffing, assisting in the development and implementation of new programs, policies, procedures and protocols, coordinates mission‐driven quality practices, manages expenses and productivity, ensures function and integration of neurodiagnostic equipment with organizational IT services, and coordinates the departmental education program.

Other monitoring procedures will include Long Term Monitoring (LTM), the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), and intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring (IONM)
• Participates in organizational leadership meetings and initiatives as assigned

Experience

• 3 years of experience in an acute neurodiagnostic setting
• 2 years Inpatient Epilepsy Monitoring Unit experience

• Experience with coordination of staff scheduling and patient scheduling
• Experience with orienting and precepting students and new staff

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• Minimum of one of the following ABRET registries/certifications CLTM, CNIM, R.EEG.T, R.EP.T, R.ED.T

Summary:

Coordinate and perform diagnostic medical imaging procedures for the Department of Ultrasound;
assisting the Radiologist utilizing a variety of diagnostic ultrasound equipment, both fixed or mobile.

Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of high quality ultrasound procedures including all vascular studies under minimal supervision utilizing diagnostic ultrasound imaging equipment.
• Documents calibration procedures for individual imaging equipment.
• Coordinates, organizes, plans and makes quick decisions on emergent cases;
  evaluates and acts to maintain efficiency and maximize productivity.
• Assists the Radiologist in performing invasive biopsy procedures using the Ultrasound system to pin point exact anatomical location(s) of a specified diseased area for specimen evaluation and diagnosis.
• Perform all vascular ultrasound exams requested.
• Ensures that all procedures are accurately charged and that all charges are turned in at the end of the day for correct billing.
• Ensures that the Ultrasound room is adequately supplied, check equipment and computer status for readiness, reports any problems that could change the work flow and make sure corrective actions are taken to ensure of work flow continuity.

• Knowledge of plethysmography for arterial and venous circulation evaluation.

• Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) is required.
• Registration by the credentialing bodies for Ultrasound Technologists is Required
• American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers (ARDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ultrasound) is Required
• BLS is required

• Cleans and restocks exam rooms. Cleans equipment in accordance with policy. Orders stock supplies from supply department (specific to site maintains sterile technique and utilizes universal protocol.
• Performs routine clerical duties assigned, including but not limited to locating patient charts, filing and the completion of routine forms.
• Attends/completes required meetings and in-service training and performs other duties as assigned.
