Job Summary and Qualifications

Prepares and identifies patients and collects clinical data for evaluation, scheduling, and completion of procedures. Observant of patient condition. Performs appropriate assessment and reassessment of patients prior to and post procedure. Compiles appropriate records to expedite results, inclusive of entering exams into Medi-tech, film identification, and the filming protocols.

Performs all Interventional Exams

Practices radiation safety as described in federal standards, utilizing the ALARA policy. Maintains safe working environment.

Understands, operates, and troubleshoots all electronic information systems, to include MediTech, Solar 8000, DLX, Advantx GE PACS, Konica CR Readers, Advantage Workstation.

Administers contrast media as required. Obtains supplies and equipment (including medications) for procedures and emergencies. If a RN is not available, certified technologists may have access to the emergency medications at the direction of the attending physician.

Participates in continuing education activities to expand and enhance knowledge of the specialty and meets the continuing education requirements of the ARRT and hospital. Maintains current CPR certification

Communicates and works effectively with other hospital departments, physicians' offices and other customers.

Takes call after regular work hours.

Initiates and documents patient teaching including family and/or significant others. Uses appropriate patient education documentation modality.

What qualifications you will need:

EXPERIENCE
Required: One year experience as radiologic technologist.
Preferred: One year dedicated invasive experience.

EDUCATION / CREDENTIALS
Required: Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
Required: ARRT registered.
Required: CPR-BLS Certification obtained within 30 days of hire from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
Preferred: As above with ARRT cardiovascular certification.
Required: ACLS Certification

Hours: Full time day shift (rotating weekends)

Offering an exceptional opportunity, Carilion Clinic (CC) and the Department of Surgery, Section of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery in Roanoke, Virginia are searching for a fellowship trained pediatric otolaryngologist to join our growing team of nine otolaryngologists, seven advanced care practitioners, four audiologists and one hearing instrument specialist in a clinic-based, academic program with remarkable opportunities in teaching, research, and clinical otolaryngology. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic, academic multi-specialty group practice providing comprehensive, multi-disciplinary care for adults and children.

Carilion Children's Hospital serves as the tertiary referral center for 185,000 children in southwest Virginia and provides a full range of pediatric services including the only designated Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center west of Richmond. Carilion Children’s is located within Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, a 763- bed teaching/tertiary care center, and is comprised of an 8-bed PICU, a 27-bed inpatient unit, a 60-bed NICU/intermediate nursing unit, and a 27 bed Pediatric Emergency Department. Ground and air transportation services are provided by a pediatric critical care transport team.

Our otolaryngology section provides comprehensive coverage to over one million people in a large, rural, multi-state area and several other Carilion hospitals, including Carilion New River Valley Medical Center, Carilion Giles Community Hospital, and Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital. The section operates clinics in three satellite locations in the region, with plans to open two additional sites in the future. Qualifications:
  • Active License (LCSW, LPCC, LMFT, LISW) in the State of Delivering Care
