POSITION SUMMARY
The Operations Manager serves as a pivotal partner to the Executive Director, taking charge of the day-to-day operations of campus offices and facilities. This role ensures that employees have an optimal work environment and families experience a safe and welcoming living environment. The incumbent plays a vital role in fostering a positive and inclusive campus culture by collaborating with campus and support team leaders, identifying potential challenges, and upholding the organization's mission. Administrative support to the Executive Director and campus leaders is also a key responsibility for this role.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Campus Operational Leadership
- Develop and implement effective campus office operations and procedures, adapting to changing priorities while working closely with relevant leaders.
- Maintain a keen awareness of operations, providing insights and recommendations to enhance efficiency, optimize the operational budget, and cultivate a cohesive team culture.
- Manage the procurement and maintenance of office equipment, including coordination with vendors, troubleshooting assistance for staff, and ensuring proper usage.
- Keep track of the campus calendar, schedule meetings, and facilitate team events to promote collaboration and engagement.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive databases and filing systems, encompassing office resources and vendor contacts.
- Collaborate with Paramark, the property management company, to oversee local facility needs, guaranteeing clean and well-maintained spaces.
- Anticipate supply needs and manage inventory, aligning with scheduled campus activities to ensure seamless operations.
- Manage incoming calls and correspondence and provide shipping and mailing support for staff.
- Work closely with the finance team to oversee local accounting tasks, such as deposits and check requests, while serving as a point of contact for accounting inquiries.
- Collaborate with IT leadership and designated vendors to address campus and staff hardware, software, and network requirements.
- Act as the main point of contact for onboarding new hires, executing talent and culture initiatives locally, and managing other staff-related matters in partnership with the campus hiring manager and HR.
Partner to the Executive Director
- Champion a positive and inclusive team culture and campus environment, working closely with the Executive Director and campus leaders.
- Offer valuable insights and recommendations to the Executive Director for enhancing the staff, family, and stakeholder experience.
- Collaborate on processing, documentation, and special projects, presentations, and training initiatives that involve administrative functions, aligned with Development and Finance.
- Act as a liaison between property management and the campus, efficiently addressing resident concerns and troubleshooting issues as they arise.

About this position:

Responsibilities:

Lead Tech 3 must have the ability to solve these challenges by developing plans, directing resources to overcome unexpected breakdowns. Lead Tech 3 are responsible but not limited to the following:
* Enforcing safety discipline on all assigned tasks, leading by example, and mentoring other techs.
* Oversee safety meetings, safety training and ensure safety paperwork is completed.
* Promoting and conducting good housekeeping practices.
* Develop and maintain a good working relationship with customers and other BAS techs.
* Maintain and troubleshoot all conveyor systems, electrical and mechanical.
* Design solutions for difficult problems, be on call for emergencies, and handle multiple projects and daily activities.
* Manage Preventive Maintenance programs.
* Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, and control components-- photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, Servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, techs, and encoders.

Training & Advancement
Those pursuing a Chaplain position are required to attend Officer Development School (ODS) in Newport, RI. Upon completion, they attend a seven-week course at the Naval Chaplaincy School and Center, also in Newport, RI.

Post-Service Opportunities

Qualifications & Requirements
A candidate seeking to serve as a Navy Chaplain and Officer must:
- Have a bachelor's degree from a qualified four-year undergraduate educational institution
- Have a graduate degree in theological or related studies from an accredited educational institution. (Note that a qualifying degree program requires no fewer than 72 semester hours or 108 quarter hours of graduate-level work. Related studies may include graduate courses in pastoral counseling, social work, religious administration and similar disciplines when one-half of the earned credits include topics in general religion, world religions, the practice of religion, theology, religious philosophy, religious ethics and/or the foundational writings from the applicant's religious tradition.)
- Have two years of full-time religious leadership experience that's compatible with the duties of a Religious Ministry Professional (RMP) in their respective Religious Organizations (RO) and relevant to the settings of military chaplaincy
- Must be able to obtain an Ecclesiastical Endorsement from a religious faith organization registered with the Department of War

Part-Time Opportunities
Serving part-time as a Navy Reserve Chaplain, your duties will be carried out during your scheduled drilling and training periods. During monthly drilling, Chaplains in the Navy Reserve typically work at a location close to their homes. This gives you the flexibility to minister in the Navy while maintaining responsibilities to your congregation at home.
For Annual Training, Chaplains may serve anywhere in the world, alongside the Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen to whom they minister.

Most of what you do in the Navy Reserve is considered training. The basic Navy Reserve commitment involves training a minimum of one weekend a month (referred to as drilling) and two weeks a year (referred to as Annual Training) - or the equivalent of that.
Chaplains in the Navy Reserve serve in an Officer role. Before receiving the ongoing professional training that comes with this job, initial training requirements must be met.
For current or former Navy Officers (NAVET): Prior experience satisfies the initial leadership training requirement - so you will not need to go through Officer Training again.
For current or former Officers of military branches other than the Navy (OSVET), as well as for Officer candidates without prior military experience: Officer Candidates will be required to attend the Officer Development School (ODS) in Newport, RI. ODS is a five-week program that provides a comprehensive and intense introduction to the responsibilities of Navy Staff Corps Officers. Officers who previously held a commission in another United States Military Service, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Public Health Service, or United States Coast Guard are exempt from attending ODS or LDO/CWO Academy.

SPECIAL OPERATIONS CORPSMAN: CAREER DETAILS & REQUIREMENTS
Responsibilities
Those in the Hospital Corpsman Advanced Technical Field go beyond the duties of basic Hospital Corpsman, working in austere and challenging environments while saving lives. Each of the three classifications has its own responsibilities:
Special Operations Independent Duty Corpsman (SOIDC)
- Provide advanced medical care and operational services for Marine Reconnaissance, USMC Special Operations Forces and Navy Special Operations Command personnel, like SWCC and SEALs
- Engage as a team member in direct action, special reconnaissance, foreign internal defense and unconventional warfare
Search and Rescue Medical Technician (SMT)
- Rescue patients and deliver emergency care from the back of a helicopter
- Perform aircrew duties and En Route Care (ERC) for routine illness and emergent patients
- Provide relief and assistance in areas ravaged by catastrophic natural disasters
- Support Search and Rescue (SAR), tactical evacuation (TECEVAC), Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC), casualty evacuation (CASEVAC) and Combat Search & Rescue (CSAR) for Navy and Marine Corps Aviation
Deep Sea Diving Medical Technician (DMT)
- Provide basic medicine and assist medics in prevention and treatment of diving related illnesses, injuries associated with deep sea diving and hyperbaric conditions
- Operate, test and repair all Navy diving equipment
- Perform underwater inspections, harbor/port/ship security inspections, conduct ordnance searches, rescue personnel, engage in special warfare and small boat operations
- Operate Swimmer Delivery Vehicle Dry-Deck Shelter system and submarine Lock-in/Lock-out systems
Work Environment
As a Hospital Corpsman, you have the most diverse range of work environments in the Navy. Your job will likely take you all over the world-and far out of your comfort zone. If you choose to go the Hospital Corpsman Advanced Technical Field route, you will work in extreme and sometimes precarious conditions. From deep-sea diving to combat missions to flying in MH-60 Romeo helicopters, you will train outside the realm of conventional military forces to prepare for any mission. You may work independent of a physician or under supervision in this program.
Training & Advancement
Upon completion of initial training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes (known as Boot Camp), you'll report for specialized training including:
Hospital Corps "A" School (19 weeks) in San Antonio, Texas for training on basic principles and techniques of patient care and first aid procedures.
After "A" School, HM-ATF candidates track to one of three advanced training paths:
- Special Operations Independent Duty Corpsman Pipeline (121 weeks)
Areas of training include but are not limited to basic reconnaissance, airborne operations, combatant diving, demolitions, clinical diagnostics, advanced trauma skills, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), basic surgical anesthesia, basic veterinary medicine and basic dental exams. - Search and Rescue Medical Tech Pipeline (27 weeks)
Areas of training include but are not limited to advanced fluid resuscitation, administration and management of Advanced Life Support medications, use of emergency medical equipment, rescue and recovery devices and patient handling. - Medical Deep Sea Diving Tech Pipeline (28 weeks)
Areas of training include but are not limited to diving physics, scuba and surface-supplied air diving, recognition and treatment of diving related illnesses.
After completing your pipeline, you'll receive your first assignment. You'll go wherever you're needed, which can be anywhere in the world. Automatic promotion opportunities are available but are competitive and based on completion of pipeline.
Post-Service Opportunities

Specialized training received and work experience gained in the course of service can lead to valuable credentialing and occupational opportunities in related fields in the civilian world, such as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Home Health Aide, Anesthesiologist Assistant and more.

Beyond offering access to professional credentials and certifications, Navy technical and operational training in the medical field can translate to credit hours toward a bachelor's or associate degree through the American Council on Education.

A high-school diploma or equivalent is required to become an Enlisted Sailor. Those seeking a position as a Hospital Corpsman must be U.S. citizens.
While no college degree is required to apply for a position as a Hospital Corpsman Advanced Technical Field, a high degree of difficulty should be expected. Entry Requirements include:

Job Description
The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) invites applications and nominations for the position of Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs. This is a renewable, full-time, non-tenured, administrative position and reports to the Chancellor. The position may be primarily located in either Reno or Las Vegas, Nevada.
The NSHE is comprised of eight institutions: two universities, a state college, four community colleges and a research institute. The public system of higher education in Nevada continues to experience growth with significant challenges and opportunities in serving over 105,000 students and 15,000 employees.
The Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs serves as the chief academic and student affairs executive for NSHE, responsible for setting strategic direction, driving systemwide policy, and ensuring accountable implementation of initiatives that advance academic quality, student success, and research competitiveness.
As a key member of the Chancellor's Cabinet, the Vice Chancellor exercises enterprise-level leadership and decision-making authority, advising the Chancellor and Board of Regents on high-impact academic, student, and research policy issues. The role is accountable not only for policy development, but for translating strategy into execution across all NSHE institutions, ensuring consistency, compliance, and measurable outcomes.
This position leads the design and implementation of systemwide initiatives spanning academic programs, transfer and articulation, student services, financial aid, and research administration. The Vice Chancellor actively identifies emerging risks and opportunities, develops actionable solutions, and drives coordinated responses across multiple institutions and stakeholders.
The Vice Chancellor also ensures NSHE remains responsive to national trends and evolving higher education demands by integrating data-driven insights into strategic planning and policy decisions.
With direct oversight of Student Affairs, Sponsored Programs and EPSCoR, and Institutional Research, the Vice Chancellor holds full accountability for performance, outcomes, and alignment within these areas-ensuring effective operations, cross-functional integration, and continuous system improvement.
SALARY GRADE: *This position offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with the candidate's education, experience, and certification/training. In addition to base salary, employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
Comprehensive Health Insurance: includes health, dental, vision, and life insurance. Additionally, an employer paid long term disability plan is included.
Outstanding Retirement Plan: professional employees are required to participate in the 401(a) Retirement Plan Alternative (RPA). Employee contributions of 19.25% are matched 100% by the employer and employees experience an immediate vesting in the plan. Employees who currently or previously participated in Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) of Nevada may be eligible to continue in the PERS plan.
Paid Leave: generous annual leave (accrual of 2 days per month), sick leave (granted 30 days at time of hire), 12 paid holidays, and paid family leave.
Education Benefit: employees and their qualified dependents may take advantage of a tuition savings benefit. Faculty may take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate and their dependents may access an unlimited number of credits, if they meet specific criteria.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a Master's or Professional Degree and 7 years of comparable managerial experience or a Doctorate and 5 years of comparable managerial experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties of this position will include, but not be limited to:
Provide executive and strategic leadership, supervision, and administrative oversight of key functional areas within the NSHE System Office, including Student Affairs, Sponsored Programs and EPSCoR, and Institutional Research. This responsibility includes setting and advancing systemwide strategic priorities; supervising and mentoring department leadership and staff; ensuring operational effectiveness, accountability, and compliance with Board policies; and proactively identifying and addressing systemwide challenges, risks, gaps, and opportunities. Coordinate and lead cross-functional and cross-institutional initiatives, exercising sound judgment and decision-making authority to align efforts with system goals and priorities. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across NSHE institutions, while effectively communicating, influencing, and advising executive leadership and stakeholders. Promote and model data-informed and evidence-based decision-making to advance student success, research growth, and institutional effectiveness, and lead the development and implementation of strategic solutions to complex systemwide issues.
Serve as a strategic advisor and executive liaison to the Academic, Research and Student Affairs (ARSA) Committee and other Board of Regents committees. Lead the development of meeting agendas in collaboration with the committee chair, ensuring alignment with system priorities and emerging issues. Coordinate institutional presentations and compile high-quality, analytically grounded briefing materials that clearly communicate key issues, risks, and opportunities. Proactively anticipate Board needs, respond to Regent inquiries with clarity and authority, and provide thoughtful recommendations to inform decision-making and policy direction at the system level.
Chair the Academic Affairs Council (AAC), providing strategic leadership and direction for systemwide academic planning and policy development. Oversee the academic program and organizational unit approval process, ensuring alignment with long-term system goals, workforce needs, and institutional missions. Lead and facilitate collaborative, solution-oriented discussions among institutional representatives to identify challenges, gaps, and opportunities, and to build consensus on complex issues such as funding models, academic innovation, and program alignment. Provide policy analysis, strategic insight, and actionable recommendations, and guide the implementation of agreed-upon changes to strengthen academic quality and effectiveness across the system.
Chair the Student Affairs Council, providing executive leadership and strategic direction for systemwide student affairs policies and initiatives. Lead the development, evaluation, and refinement of policies related to student services, including residency determinations and financial aid coordination. Identify systemic barriers and opportunities impacting student access, success, and equity, and work collaboratively with institutional leaders to develop and implement innovative, student-centered solutions. Ensure clear communication, stakeholder engagement, and alignment of policies with broader system goals and priorities.
Chair the Research Affairs Council, leading strategic planning and policy development to advance research across NSHE. Establish and communicate systemwide research priorities, goals, and performance expectations, and identify opportunities to enhance research productivity, collaboration, and external funding. Facilitate cross-institutional partnerships, address barriers to research growth, and provide data-informed recommendations to strengthen competitiveness. Guide the implementation of initiatives, including those associated with EPSCoR, ensuring alignment with state and national research priorities.
Provide executive oversight and strategic leadership for the NSHE Sponsored Programs and EPSCoR Office. Direct systemwide efforts to enhance research development, grant competitiveness, and external partnership engagement with state and federal agencies. Identify gaps and opportunities in research infrastructure and support services, and lead collaborative strategies to strengthen capacity and outcomes. Ensure alignment of sponsored program activities with system priorities and effectively advocate for resources and initiatives that advance NSHE's research mission.
Ensure executive-level oversight and quality assurance of data reporting and analytics across the Academic and Student Affairs division. Lead efforts to leverage data as a strategic asset, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and clarity in dashboards, reports, and analyses. Translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations that inform executive leadership, institutional strategy, and Board decision-making. Proactively identify trends, gaps, and emerging issues, and guide the development of data-informed strategies to improve system performance, accountability, and outcomes.
Provide strategic leadership and systemwide coordination related to the State's higher education attainment goals. Support and influence policy development aligned with statewide objectives, and monitor, assess, and communicate progress toward established targets. Identify disparities, gaps, and opportunities for improvement, and lead the development and implementation of collaborative, system-level strategies to increase educational attainment. Engage stakeholders across institutions and external partners to align efforts and drive measurable impact.
Provide executive oversight and strategic guidance for NSHE's participation in SARA and membership in NC-SARA. Ensure compliance with applicable standards while identifying opportunities to enhance interstate educational access and program delivery. Serve as a key decision-maker and advisor on matters related to state authorization, distance education, and regulatory alignment. Communicate effectively with institutional leaders and external stakeholders and lead continuous improvement efforts to strengthen NSHE's position in the national higher education landscape.
