Job Summary: The Electrical Technician II will build, rework, test, repair, and install wiring harnesses on vehicles and the bench.
The role will follow instructions from blueprints, bill of materials (BOM), schematics, and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).
The role will follow procedures to set up and run quality checks on various wiring harnesses.
The Electrical Technician II will perform independent project tasks and collaborate with customers and team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Assemble, install, perform functional and safety tests and reverse engineer on wiring using hand tools and proper assembly techniques by following work instructions (prints, cut sheets, sample harnesses).
• Install lights, brackets, and electrical hardware to special test boxes, automotive components, and vehicles according to specifications.
• Test wiring and components for correct operation using a schematic and diagnostic equipment.
• Perform wiring reworks and repairs on bench and vehicle, crimp and solder, de-pin terminal, create basic schematics and reverse engineer harnesses.
• Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs.
• Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up.
Education and Experience (required): • High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years of electrical work experience.
Education and Experience (preferred): • Certificate in Automotive Electrical Technology or related.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience installing components on circuit boards.
• Experience with automotive powertrain systems or electric battery systems.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (required): • Mechanical aptitude with basic understanding of automotive systems and ability to crimp and solder wires.
Proficient with hand and power tools and able to operate vehicle lifts.
• Proficient electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills and the ability to understand electronic schematics and electronic part documentation.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of MS Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Able to work overtime and weekends.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (preferred): • Broad knowledge of vehicle systems (powertrain, chassis, electrical, thermal, exteriors, interiors, etc.) and related components, component materials & fasteners.

• Coordinate build timing, sequencing, and part readiness to support program milestones.
• Track build status and provide updates to program leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Ensure all required components are available and validated prior to scheduled builds.
Parts Readiness & Tracking • Track prototype parts through sourcing, manufacturing, shipping, and delivery to build locations.
• Identify potential part shortages or delays and escalate risks early.
• Work closely with Parts Management Analyst, Purchasing, Engineering, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of prototype components.
• Monitor part status using internal tracking systems and build readiness tools.
Issue Resolution & Escalation • Identify risks impacting build timing or vehicle completion.
• Lead issue resolution activities with engineering teams and suppliers.
• Escalate supply or engineering concerns when needed to protect build schedules.
• Drive corrective actions to ensure prototype build completion.
Cross-Functional Collaboration • Act as a central communication point between Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Logistics.
• Participate in program meetings, build readiness reviews, and launch planning discussions.
• Support coordination between prototype facilities and program teams.
Build Execution Support • Assist build teams with part verification, build sequencing, and issue tracking.
• Document build concerns and feedback for engineering improvements.
Reporting & Documentation • Maintain accurate build plans, schedules, and part tracking documentation.
• Provide daily or weekly status updates on build readiness and risks.
• Develop tracking tools and reports to support prototype program management.
