Cases and Consults: Routine general surgery cases.
Approximately 10+ ER calls and inpatient consults during the assignment.
Emergent cases handled during the coverage period, with follow-up care referred locally.
Required Procedures and Skills: General surgery (laparoscopic, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty, etc.).
Emergency response for adult, pediatric, and neonate cases.
Basic and advanced procedures such as central line insertion, chest tube placement, and ventilation management.
Endoscopy (upper and lower), colonoscopy, and minor orthopedic procedures.
Practice Setting Patient Care: Both inpatient and outpatient services.
EMR System: Epic.
Support Team: Adequate staffing to assist with patient care during the assignment.
Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 14 days.
Temporary privileges are available to expedite onboarding.
Requirements Board Certification: Must be board-certified or board-eligible in General Surgery.
