Our team is looking for Cardiac Perfusionists that want to be part of our growing team in Southern California.

Our Cardiac Perfusion team works in our brand new state of the art medical center with brand new operating rooms and new equipment.

Due to rapid expansion in our cardiac program we are in need of individuals looking to be part of something great for our community that we serve.

Our team has the unique opportunity to be able to work both adult and pediatric with ECMO programs, robotic mitral valve repair, heart transplant and VADs, so you are a veritable swiss army knife.

Cardiac Perfusionist Essential Duties: Completes American Society of Extra-Corporeal Technology (AMSECT) pre-bypass checklist before surgery.

Documents perfusion procedure and patient parameters.

Operates heart-lung machine to divert patients blood and circulate it outside the body, to administer drugs and anesthetic agents through the cardiopulmonary bypass circuit, and to control body temperature during surgery or respiratory failure for myocardial protection.

Monitors and observes operation of heart-lung machine and patients physiological variables such as blood temperature, blood composition, and flow rate and adjusts equipment to maintain normal body functions.

Operates other mechanical devices to assist in the conservation of blood and blood products during surgery.

Cleans, adjusts, and maintains heart-lung machine in proper functioning condition at all times.

Delivers controlled cardioplegia.

Demonstrates knowledge and skill necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served, within the Clinical Perfusionist Scope of Practice.

Complies with all applicable statutes, rules, and regulations, policies and procedures, and ethical standards.

Ensures adequate supplies are maintained.

Orders supplies, as needed Available to be on-call and travel as scheduled.

CURRENT VACANCIES IN THE FOLLOWING DIVISIONS:SEASONAL SUMMER PROGRAMSThis is a SEASONAL position for summer programs only. Work schedule is flexible and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Under supervision, enforce all pool regulations, perform rescues, instruct swimming classes in beginning through advanced skills, maintain pool area and equipment, and does related work as required.

The employee must have the ability to:

• Swim with proficiency and endurance.
• Meet standards of swimming competency as established by the American Red Cross Aquatic Standards and the Fontana Community Services Department.
• Prevent dangerous situations, recognize emergencies, and take appropriate action.
• Effectively enforce pool rules and policies.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with both staff and pool patrons.
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Performs any other tasks or functions deemed necessary to the daily operations of the employer, and

Experience and Training Guidelines

A combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. The employee must have the knowledge of:

• Principles and practices of water safety, rescue methods, lifesaving techniques, and first aid as applied to accidents in the water and surrounding pool areas.
• Techniques and methods of swimming instruction for all age groups.
• The incumbent must be at least sixteen (16) years of age to be a Water Safety Instructor in accordance with the American Red Cross certification programs.
• Anyone under the age of eighteen (18) and still in High School must have a valid work permit.

Licenses/Certifications: Possession of, and continuously throughout employment, the following certifications established by the American Red Cross:

• Lifeguard and First Aid Training
• CPR/AED for Lifeguards or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
• First Aid for Public Safety Personnel (Title 22)
