The Systems Engineering and Test Center (SETC) organization is currently hiring a Principal Systems Engineer – Systems Verification Lead to join our Tucson, AZ team in the Advanced Technology Effectors System Engineering Department.  The SETC organization is an exciting and challenging environment where you will have the opportunity to design, develop and partner with multi-disciplines to shape innovative solutions for our customers. As a Principal Systems Engineer – Systems Verification Lead you will serve as a system technical lead executing the verification and validation efforts culminating in the execution and completion of a system Functional Configuration Audit (FCA).

This role is fully Onsite in Tucson, AZ.

What You Will Do

• SE verification lead, working closely with the program IPTLs, Chief Engineer and external customer, to ensure successful system Functional Configuration Audit

• Lead, prepare and deliver technical briefs or presentations to the external customer in requirements and verification working groups

• SE technical lead overseeing verification and validation efforts, ensuring all requirements are being assessed during testing

• Become the knowledgeable and ‘go-to’ Systems Engineer for the program Functional Configuration Audit (FCA) effort.

• Help to onboard new team members, mentor, and guide them using core Systems Engineering skills.

• Assist the systems lead with cost account management, schedule and cost earned value analysis, program management reviews, and Estimate at Complete (EAC) reporting

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years of prior relevant experience

• Experience with at least one of the following: systems software, systems firmware, systems hardware, systems requirements, systems integration, and/or systems test.

• Experience in test planning or verification of system requirements or system qualification

• Active and transferrable final U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start. US citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance 

Qualifications We Prefer

• Masters or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Math or Physics

• Top Secret Clearance

• Experience in the Defense Industry and specifically with military systems; tactics, techniques, and procedures, as well as Department of Defense customer infrastructure experience.

The Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) Directorate is a multi-discipline organization responsible for developing test solutions for all Raytheon products. Our engineers are responsible for all elements of the development lifecycle for test.

We are hands-on, designing with the latest technology and tools, and integrate state of the art test solutions with the most advanced engineering systems in the world.  Typical work involves designing interface assemblies, selection and integration with test instruments and environments, to develop a test system for all Raytheon products.  These core activities may be performed for both lab engineering and factory production test systems.  The candidate will contribute to the completion of all stages of test product development and will be responsible for helping to maintain the technical, cost and schedule aspects of their assigned projects. They will be expected to act, either as a part of their team or independently, to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of test products.

What You Will Do:

• Design, development, and integrate Raytheon test products within Test Equipment Engineering in multidiscipline engineering teams

We're looking for an experienced Senior IP Litigation Associate who can help guide our growing company through IP litigation enforcing our patent portfolio, development and maintenance of the regulatory compliance landscape we operate in, and other strategic business matters.

Position Overview

The Senior IP Litigation Associate will play a key role in managing all legal functions within SnapPower, including litigation participation and oversight, intellectual property (IP) support and enforcement, regulatory compliance, and contract management. The ideal candidate will be proactive, practical, and business-minded—able to balance risk with innovation and help leadership make smart, strategic decisions.

Compensation & Benefits

• $150,000 - $250,000 (based on experience).

Key Responsibilities

1. Legal & Litigation Oversight

• Manage, coordinate and substantively contribute to all legal and litigation activities for SnapPower.
• Oversee external counsel, ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and aligned work production.
• Maintain accurate documentation and provide leadership with regular updates on case status and outcomes.

2. Patent Enforcement / IP Support

• Collaborate closely with SnapPower's internal IP counsel to manage patent enforcement and IP litigation matters.
• Assist in reviewing and protecting SnapPower's portfolio of patented technologies and trademarks.

3. Regulatory Compliance

• Oversee all product regulatory compliance initiatives with agencies including (but not limited to) UL, ETL, NEC, and NEMA.
• Develop a deep understanding of SnapPower's regulatory landscape and product categories.
• Manage third-party consultants and testing labs to ensure product compliance.
• Attend relevant panel meetings and advocate for SnapPower's positions within industry and compliance bodies.

4. Agreement Review

• Review and analyze business agreements, supplier contracts, licensing deals, and NDAs.
• Provide objective, business-oriented feedback and recommendations to company leadership.
• Ensure alignment between contract terms and SnapPower's strategic and operational goals.

5. Business Support

• Serve as a trusted legal advisor to SnapPower's executive team.
• Contribute to strategic planning and help guide intelligent business decisions that balance innovation with legal soundness.
• Provide general counsel on employment, corporate governance, and risk management as needed.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing.
• 5+ years of IP litigation experience is a must; deep understanding of patent/IP law.
• Experience working with consumer products, manufacturing, or electronics industries preferred.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Business-minded problem solver with a collaborative approach and practical judgment.
