Position Purpose
The 12-month Nurse Residency Program atSaint Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, CT, is designed for any Registered Nurse RN with less than 1-year of nursing experience to expand the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required of a Registered Nurse to move from entry-level competence toward proficiency and expertise.
What you will do
Develop clinical judgment and decision‑making
Deliver safe, evidence‑based, people‑centered care
Build leadership skills at the bedside
Apply research and best practices in daily care
Learn through collaboration with educators, preceptors, and peers.
Minimum Qualifications

The Occupational Therapist performs evaluations, direct patient treatment and provides documentation for patients of all ages referred for occupational therapy.
You Will Be Responsible For:
- Provides full scope of direct and clinical services necessary to maximize the care for patients of all ages
- Appropriately communicates results of assessment or treatment program including written and/or verbal means. Aggressively works with patient, family, care provider to communicate patient status and progress, as well as providing adequate training
- Develops and maintains advanced clinical skills, including acknowledged area of expertise and multi-site/unit clinical service diversification.
- Maintains appropriate communication with treatment team, physicians, clients, and/or family members to facilitate problem solving, program planning and education.

Position Purpose:
At Saint Mary’s Hospital, the Nurse Senior – Educator, informally known as the Nursing Professional Development Specialist, will advance nursing excellence through evidence-based education and professional development. This role empowers nurses to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care by fostering lifelong learning and supporting clinical competency across service lines.
What You Will Do:
Design, implement, and evaluate educational programs that promote clinical competency, orientation, and continuing education for nursing staff.

At Saint Mary's Hospital, as an RN you’ll deliver direct patient care, including triaging patient calls, administering medications and injections, assisting with stress tests and cardiac procedures, and providing education on lifestyle changes, medication management, and disease prevention.

Collaborate closely with our cardiologists and the care team to coordinate testing, follow-up care, and treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
