How Will You Make An Impact?

To be a technical focal point to monitor and work supplier quality issues directly with the manufacturer and communicate status on non-conforming parts/suppliers across all programs. Evaluate supplier performance, determine appropriate Inspection processes and provides guidance to Receiving Inspection function at the site level.

What Will You Do?

  • Serve as the focal person for commodity related quality and functional issues that stem from components being purchased for manufacturing.

  • Ensure that all production critical supplier issues are resolved in a timely manner, and corrective actions are implemented correctly.

  • Serve as the point of contact for Inspection Plans and Inspection Methods, and provide guidance to Receiving Inspection Auditors.

  • Ensuring ongoing site supplier evaluation is performed; This would be achieved by using site information collected from Receiving Inspection, MRB, Customer Returns, SCAR database and by liaison efforts with customer work cells. 

  • Performance will be reported internally, to the supplier, and to the customer where applicable. 

  • Perform supplier audit interfacing with Corporate SQE if applicable.

  • To provide documentation to perform Inspection of components per Inspection Plans in SAP.

  • Monitor and drive PPM issues with the supply base in addition to helping them achieve “Dock to Stock” certified with Jabil (in accordance to the vendor performance system).

  • Drive supplier selection strategies that will yield a supply base that can be used across all customer programs providing leverage cost savings.

  • Proactively communicate information or issues that may impact the product costs of manufacturability to all affected departments.

This role is responsible for managing customer demand, driving requisitions for buyers, and ensuring the production floor has the materials needed to meet schedule requirements. The planner serves as the primary point of contact between Jabil and the customer’s materials leadership, requiring strong communication and collaboration skills.

This position is approximately 60% desk-based planning and 40% floor-based coordination, requiring comfort working directly with materials technicians and production supervisors.

What can you expect to do?
  • Serve as the customer-facing liaison for demand planning and shipment coordination.

  • Manage demand signals and translate them into actionable requisitions for the purchasing team.

  • Use and navigate three planning systems : SAP, PRISM, and Asprova.

  • Collaborate with the production floor team to ensure timely material availability, understand shortages, and track material arrival dates.

  • Work directly on the production floor with materials technicians and their supervisors to resolve issues and maintain schedule integrity.

  • Maintain and analyze Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).

  • Monitor and present planning metrics to Business Units (BU) and drive continuous improvement.

  • Re-evaluate min/max levels for bulk materials to optimize inventory and production flow.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with buyers, production teams, and customer contacts to ensure alignment and responsiveness.

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including security and operational standards.

  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What is the experience needed to be successful in this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.

  • Thorough knowledge of ERP/MRP systems; experience with SAP, PRISM, and Asprova preferred.

  • 2+ years of production planning experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience working with metal commodities such as copper, steel, and hardware is preferred.

  • Advanced PC skills including Microsoft Office; intermediate Excel skills required.

  • Strong understanding of BOMs and ECNs in a high-volume, multi-part environment.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Mathematical skills to perform routine pharmaceutical calculations which include adding, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; computes rate, ratios, and percents.

- Practice within the established role for pharmacy technicians in organized health care settings.

- Effectively use medical terminology, drug nomenclature, symbols, and abbreviations associated with pharmacy practice

- Ability to speak and communicate effectively with patients, associates, and other health professionals.

- Must be proficient in the use of pharmacy based computer systems as well as Microsoft Office program or programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as indicated in the specific function within the department.

- Explain and complete technical functions of the operation of the drug distribution system for organized healthcare settings.

- Explain and apply basic pharmacology and pharmacologic principles.

- Understand aseptic technique and prepare sterile products.

Supervision Provided by this Position

- There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this job.

Physical Demands

- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.

- Must have good balance and coordination.

- The physical requirements of this position are: medium work - exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently.

- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.

- Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.

- Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.

- Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
